View Full Version : 2012 Draft QB's to win Superbowl (Foles and Wilson) who's was Most Impressive?

From the QB loaded 2012 draft class that included Luck, RGIII, Tannehill, Wilson, Foles, Cousins, Osweiler, and Weedon a bunch have made the pro bowl but only 2 so far have superbowl rings, Wilson and Foles. Question, of the 2, which was a more impressive feat.

Wilson basically game managed a team with a stud defense to a victory over Peyton and the Broncos in the cold but did it as a very young QB (sophmore season) and took on a prominent leadership role in the process.

Whereas Foles out-dueled Brady in a shootout and took Superbowl MVP honors in the process (we all know his story by now).

Considering these are the only two Qb's of the 2012 class, who's superbowl victory was more impressive??

I mean...you pretty much already answered your own question

Foles for sure. Dude played lights out all night. Wilson played great, but it was way more of a team victory. The Eagle's victory is on Foles. Their defense had one good play all game.

Foles because he's a backup quarterback and he did not throw a game ending pick

Wilson has hardly ever had an impressive playoff game.

Foles in the superbowl > Wilsons p.s career

probably foles. both defense played bad so he had to go toe to toe with brady. wilson had a top 10 defense of all time

Put wilson behind that O line and watch every NFL team get destroyed

Give the Falcons a 28-3 lead and watch them win the game.

Wilson would have put up 60 last night playing behind that line. I can't remember Foles getting hit even once.

But situations being what they were, Foles game yesterday was incredible and more impressive than Russ against the Broncos. The defence did the bulk of the work for us in that game.

We gonna pretend osweiler doesn't have a ring? He stepped in 6 games and led the Broncos to some really good wins against some quality opponents. No comparison but it's worth conversations sake. Things would have probably been a lot different if he didn't go full diva.
Foles went in and got into a shootout and won against the GOAT. I'm gonna have to give the edge to Foles here because he was a major reason behind the ring for Philly. The Seahawks could have run it every other play and still won against the team the Broncos fielded that night.
Thick dik Nick has bragging rights over every other 2012 QB for the time being.

You don't want to give Wilson time like that behind a dangerous O-line. bomb after bomb

I was a big fan of Foles coming out of college but Wilson is clearly the better QB and it's not even close.

Not to take anything away from Foles though he played great. Dude was red hot and the Pats did nothing to make him uncomfortable.

foles' sb appearance > wilson's

foles was throwing absolute dimes and basically took everything over the top. over 300 of brady's yards were YAC. his numbers looked huge but his performance was not unbelievable. can't even remember one memorable throw from him. maybe the escaped sack to his amendola wide open for 30? foles was legit throwing his receivers open (give credit for them for completing some monster catches as well)

wilson is by far the better QB. not really debatable. like other posters said, wilson would hang his nuts behind that oline. he's been the best (or top 2) deep ball passer in the league since 2012 from what i remember

Foles is more impressive but Wilson is the better QB.

Foles for sure. You could have stuck SB 50 Manning on Wilson's team and they would have won. There was a thread listing all the QBs that could have won that SB with that D. It was a pretty long list. Wilson has proven himself as a solid QB since though.
