View Full Version : If you could go back in time and alter one segment of history it HAS to be this one:

The 2004 ALCS. Those 4 games in October not only put baseball on life support for 12 years, they changed society for the worse. Obesity, mental dullness and poor hygiene became normalized in society because of the way the Red Sox branded themselves as the "idiots" and "dirtbags" of baseball. Pre-diabetic "athletes" like David Ortiz should not be revered by any segment of society, and rational people outside the city with the ugliest women on Earth (Boston) know this.

Politics aside, making America great again starts with time travel to October of 2004.

A young woman died after their comeback too. At the hands of Boston PD no less.

Coming from the guy who makes fun of someone's dead child, wishes cancer on people and celebrates injuries. I'd toss you off the raft today because we know you can't swim.

Coming from the guy who wants to remove kicking from football and uses a sports thread to vent his frustration with his own son's dreadful height genetics. Keep coping baby boy!

Plaxico Burress drops the TD and the Patriots go 19-0.

That was a 1st or 2nd down play I believe. Giants had too much momentum after the Tyree catch at that point.

a team ending the longest championship drought in sports put the sport on life support? what?

Yes, because it was the climax of the sport for a bit and there were no compelling storylines in MLB since the Cubs were pretty awful after 2003 until the past 2-3 years. So it was more like a "now what?" feel around the sport until the Cubs ended their drought. Luckily the sport is much healthier now than it was in 2005 so we don't have to worry about an existential crisis this time around.

Is this the worst post of 2017?
