when to eat during the day for best muscle building results?

For best, likely every 4-5 hours including upon wakening and right before sleep, assuming all else is equal. Please read the stickies.

Pretty much the best, simple advice. Eat when hungry and that allows you to hit your daily goals. With that said, studies show it does benefit muscle growth to get protein throughout the day but not a deal breaker.
