I'm thinking about starting to precook a lot of my meals for the whole week in advance, freeze them and them microwave them when I need them. People that do this...are they still tasty?

Dunno about things like whole chicken breast cooked and frozen. But chili con carne, bolognese etc defrost very well.

No they are disgusting, I have no clue how some people can eat that crap, tho some people look as food as just fuel source and are not really that into tasty food, heck most people don't even know how to use spices and make great tasting food and combos.

That being said, some foods are more disgusting than others, meat for example is very disgusting frozen and microwaved.. now chili con carne, bolognese as someone said defrosts pretty decent and theres not such a big difference.

Stews and soups freeze very well in my experience.

If you prepping for the WEEK - you do not need to freeze. they will be fine if they stay refrigeratoredatedor'd

I can't do that, it tastes bad and has awful texture.

You can't go wrong microwaving cheese and beans

I wouldn't keep anything in the fridge cooked for over 4 days. Starts tasting funny to me.

I cook and freeze 7 days worth of food on Sundays. I use these little to-go containers I bought in bulk. They fit perfectly in my 6-pack bag.

If you are freezing chicken breast, I've done a lot of trial and error and the best way to do it is to bake the entire breast whole on a foil lined tray, covered loosely with foil over the top. 40 min on 400, then 20 min on 450.

Pull out of the oven let cool so you can pick the thing up, then take scissors and slice and weigh into containers.

Doing it this way ensures that the chicken breast stays extremely moist after un-thawed in a microwave. Any other way I've tried the chicken is barely edible.

Chilli, bolognese, curries etc all freeze just fine. Chicken cooked from frozen is phucking disgusting.

As others have mentioned already, stuff like chilis, sauces, curries, etc will taste good. IMO they typically taste better after a day in the fridge. I just broke into some chili from the freezer that is tasting better than it did the day I cooked it.

OTOH, I think raw meat does not taste good after it's been frozen. Compromises the texture too much.

I prep for 30-40m every day versus weekly so as to not have that concern.

Vegetables get rubbery and taste like crap. You're better off eating them uncooked. If you use sauce on meat it is decent though.
