Today is leg day, and so far this morning I have had
7oz Chicken Breast
3 Hard boiled Eggs
2 oz salsa

Right now i am at
60g Protein
7g Carbs
18g Fats

I am going to hit the gym for a solid leg day with jump rope between each set.

My question is, of the two choices, which should i eat pre workout?:

40g Carbs in vegetables: Brocolli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Bell Pepper, Asparagus

40g Carbs in Fuji apple and PB2

or does it not actually matter?

or suggest something else. Thanks for your consideration

If really doesn't matter beyond personal preference and how you react to the foods.

Many folks prefer to workout in a fasted state just as many folks have specific foods that like to eat pre-workout.

Eat what sits well in your stomach and fuels your workout optimally. Simple.

What i do will be different from what you do and will be different from what random bro XYZ does.

What matters is that you eat whatever makes you perform best.

Also, why would you jump rope between sets? That is counterproductive for strength.

Also, why would you jump rope between sets? I presume it's to annoy and pose a risk of injury to others who are attempting to exercise with the OP. Evil, but brilliant, if you ask me.

I jump rope because it is my goal to try and lean out, and keeping it HIIT while jumping rope keeps my heart rate going the whole time.

but yes it is also to annoy some idiots that leave their weights laying around

Not sure when you had your first meal but I would throw some protein (20g or so) into your PWO snack/meal. Also, remember to keep the fats low in your preworkout meals.

* My personal go to is a bowl of PROATS (oatmeal, scoop of protein, and some sea salt), which is heaven in a bowl and the added sodium helps with the pumps. Ha.

Not an ideal approach for fat loss, but to each their own

Usually shrimp and bacon :) Or an egg with cheddar cheese. Sometimes only a little salt and butter or a favorite is leftover roasted cauliflower chopped up with some queso blanco.

I respectfully decline your shrimp, but would approve bacon, eff, and cheddar ;)

Personally I always loved grits with cheese... plain and simple. Maybe a little pepper.

Hello, last week i did an experiment on what to eat pre-workout.
I usually train empty stomach.

I ate 3 packets of ramen noodles before workout and a can of tuna.
I felt a bit dizzy walking to the gym, expecting a bad workout.
But when i touched the weight, i had a lot of energy and the most intense pump in my life.
This pump stayed the entire day.

I ate only steak before workout.
I had lots of energy and could lift more weight more times.
Surprisingly, my pump was non existant that day.

I ate a banana, celery, black berries and a piece of watermelon before workout.
I had an average workout with average pump that lasted not long.

I had white rice, chicken and some kidney beans before workout.
I had a lot of energy and a great pump.

I had an big egg ommelette with spinach, bacon, bacon and bacon.
Again great energy, felt very good, but could not get a pump.

I had only a cup of black coffee and three different preworkouts before workout.
I had a lot of energy, a lot of pump, and completely lost track of time.

So if i would do hypertrophy training, i would take a high carb meal.
And for strength training, i would take a high fat meal.
You should experiment for yourself what works for you.
