View Full Version : Softest athletes in recent memory?

Reading about the Red Sox vs Eck and LeDramaQueen up to his annual PR work got me thinking.

Who else comes to mind when you think about mentally weak athletes ?

We´ve got David Price and LeBron, who else?

How do you get the softest title after just one thing?<

How do you have all those sports teams in your sig and claim the two athletes mentioned in the OP weren´t viewed as soft before that ´one thing´?

Dustin Pedroia, after throwing teammates under the bus earlier in the season after Barnes threw at Machado.

Wrong that he threw at his head? Yep.

Wrong that Pedroia just completely tossed tossed him under the bus without a second thought? Yes

Physically or mentally? If physically just lol, dude gets rocked every game and the refs think he's a primma donna so they never call flags. He takes the biggest beating of any receiver in the league due to being such a huge target.

Mentally, yeah that's probably true.

We will call it the Buster Posey Rule. How could we not?

Finally, we have a solution, in the form of Rule 7.13: Baseball announced — effective this year — that a runner "may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher." Similarly, catchers are not allowed to block the plate unless they are in possession of the ball. If the runner violates the protocol, he’s out. If the catcher errs, the runner is safe. Fair is fair.

- well there was that one time where he started calling up every staff member in UA headquarters just because the CEO "praised" trump.

- him being an overall sjw phagort

- this (not really but still)

- literally disappearing in the 2015-2016 finals versus Cleveland and not being able to perform under pressure and getting cucked by Kyrie hard

Sorry, but thats a bad list.

1. His political stance or attempt at political activism is nothing that says "soft", only maybe misguided, depending on your political positions.
2. SJW, see above
3. No, not really, its marketing and his fans love that goofy chit
4. Every single player in the world has had games were they vanished, and at least he played through some injuries
5. Iggy defended and contained the best player in the world at that point in time, he was the difference maker in the Finals, thats no shade on Curry or anyone
6. You realize it takes courage to step to the side so the team overall can run a train on the Cavs and win a championship??? If LeBron could do that, he would still have Kyrie next to him ...

that post just read like a whole bunch of excuses/cope and cucking for Curry.

1. Regardless of your political stance, it's soft behavior to be sensitive and butthurt over innocuous comments/opinions expressed by the CEO and creating a huge fuss. People have opinions you don't like or necessarily agree with. There's no reason to be upset. Again you can pose the question, what does the "political" comment expressed by the CEO have to do with anything and why did it require any sort of exaggerated response?

2. SJW, not soft, pick one
3. Lol

4. He vanished for an entire series, they were literally winning the series 3-1. First any team has come back from a 3-1 deficit. That loss was on him. He's shown numerous times he's choked under pressure defense.

5. Iguodala did a good job yes but LOL if a role player wins the FMVP over the regular season MVP and the face of the team. It is shade on Curry no matter how you look at it if he couldn't even play up to that level for an entire series against a heavily injured team as a regular season MVP. It would be shade to you guys if Kyrie won it over LeBron, yet somehow this isn't in your mind. Lebron was the best player back then, yet 2 years later he puts up a triple-double and has an overall better series yet somehow Kyrie > Lebron. Imagine if Gasol won it over Kobe or Pippen over Jordan. MVPs play up to that standard.

6. Stepping aside from being the main guy so that burden falls on somebody else is NOT courage. Courage is confronting all of that criticism/burden and owning up to it as the main player and MVP/leader of the team, then removing that doubt, not shifting it. That's the easy road. The toughest guys the league has seen in Kobe and Jordan never did that or would think of doing that. They knew they were they alpha dog of the team, in their minds they were the best so they played and conducted themselves like they were. Lol @ if either of them sidestepped for somebody else and let somebody take over for them. If Lebron is sidestepping for Kyrie they aren't winning chit regardless, nor are they winning anything with Kyrie being the main guy. There's a lot to criticise lebron about but at least lebron being at the helm has resulted in championships, not to mention one with Cleveland.
