Tough call, Watson can make higher level throws, Mariotta was more consistent. Marriota is faster and bigger.

But if need a drive I'm going with Watson

Right now, it's obviously Mariota. He's progressing nicely as an NFL qb. If I remember correctly, he's never thrown an INT in the redzone. Pretty impressive.

I wouldn't want my team spending a first round pick on Watson. He's good at what he does in that gimmicky college offense, but can he read an NFL defense? Can he go through progressions? Can he stay in the pocket and clean up that footwork? He has a lot of work to do to be a successful NFL qb. Awesome college football player. The NFL is a whole other animal though.

Lot of that will be answered on the chalk board with coaches. Dak ran the spread is doing fine, marriota is doing fine. As long as they are passer first types aND can process information they have as good of a shot as any "pro style" qb.

LMAO people are really gonna start using Dak an example for every QB. Its called an anomaly. For every spread QB you name that had success I can point to guys like Kaepernick, RG3, Weeden, Gabbert ext....

IMO Mariota was more consistent and he did it with less talent

It's the way of the world, you have way more spread type qbs, there will start being more and more in then nfl. Tons of pro style qbs bust every year.

770 Rush Yards, 15 TD

Watson's Junior Year:

People forget just how dominating Mariota was in college. He simply did whatever he wanted in that spread offense.

They sleep.

Never forget Marcus' dismantling of Jameis. Never.

But did Marcus face good defenses? Look at the gauntlet DW4 had to go through. He picked apart bama twice.

Edit: I can also tell you this year was a transition year for DW4. He played as a more pocket passer type QB for the first 75% of the year. He rarely used his wheels. He tried to stay in the pocket as often as he could
