View Full Version : When do the lats begin to show?

Ok guys so my question is when do the lats begin to show from the front.
I'm 6 foot 5 tall, my shoulders are about 51 centimeters (20,07 inches) wide(WIDTH NOT GIRTH) I weigh 85 kilograms, and I'm not sure about body fat but I can't see my abs (all the fat goes into my stomach area).
My numbers are:
bench press: 60 kg (132,27 pounds) 5x5
bent over row: 50 kg (110 pounds) 5x5
standing overhead press: 42 kg (92,59 pounds) 5x5
deadlift: 60 kg (132,27 pounds) 1x5

I'm doing icf 5x5 currently so that means that I increase the weight by 2 kg (4,4 pounds) or 3 kg (6,61) every session.
So when will my lats begin to show from the front? And also will i get any wider in the shoulders, I' 19 and I realize the bones won't grow any wider but will I gain width in muscle.
Pls answer this i need to know lol.

Bones may still grow. Men's growth plates usually don't close until around 23. As you put size on your shoulders, you'll get wider. Same with the lats. Don't neglect medial and especially rear delts like a lot of people do. That's where you'll get your width. Putting on size will come down to how/what you're eating. For lats, focus on building the mind muscle connection and proper form. If you don't have that connection, your rear delts, bis, and rhomboids will do more of the work in your pulling movements. After putting on a good amount of size and strength with this routine, you'll probably want to move to a split routine. Best of luck.

Also, to add to the first response, focus on your vertical pulling movements ie pullups for back width.

make sure you progress into doing weighted chin ups that is what's going to explode your lats.
