Every guy that plays basketball has dreamed of playing in the NBA. So now you finally get your chance. How do you think you would do in that game in regards to points, rebounds, steals, assists ect? You'll be starting.

It's a meaningless regular season game with both teams having losing records and no chance for them to make the playoffs, but stats still count.

I've played ball at a decent level so I'm fairly confident when I say this.

My stat line would be:
0 pts, 0 reb, 1 asst, 2 TO's

Zero everything and turnover every time I touch the ball. There's a guy that comes to my gym occasionally that made it to the d-league and it's unbelievable watching him play. The guy scores 1 vs 5 at will. Fcker never misses jump shots and is fast as fck. Really made me appreciate how good actual NBA players are

How many Minutes am i getting OP? If its over 20 I would assume out of sheer luck I would be able to grab 1 rebound and score 1-2 points at the free throw line. Most likely scenario:

0pts, 1 Rebound, 0 Assists, 9 TO's, 0-8 shooting(7 attempts were blocked), Exercise induced asthma causing me to be carried off the floor by my teammates.

agreed about 95% of the time, yes most 20 year olds that just play occassionally will get just blow AWAY !

but come on... if you were inshape enough to play for 30 minutes of NBA

you could get of a few shots if people double team and give you an open jumper. You could get a stray rebound or 2 .

But yeah, you;d turn the ball over 50% of the time you touched it if you can't handle the ball at a near collegiate level.

i would be useless. but a fellow coach of mine would get a few points, a few rebounds. he's 6ft 2 , varisty in High School. running at THAT speed though for a full game would crush most of us.

20 pts, 5 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals

My defense would be just as strong, brb shutting down opposing starting pg

Pro Athletes are on a level so much higher than "regular" people that it would be laughable.

Golf, baseball, football, hoop... It doesn't matter.

It's not even the running, playa. It's the intensity. You ever play pickup? I can play pickup ball all day. BUT - ever play in a competitive league? I play about a quarter and a half, and I'm waving to the bench for a sub. The intensity of real competitive ball is night and day. It's kind of a weird dynamic, but it's tangible.

but come on... if you were inshape enough to play for 30 minutes of NBA

1pt, 1rb, 2 ast, 5 turnovers. 15 minutes. sub off early for being a liability lel.

rookies turn the ball over like crazy, and they're the best of the best at their age.

one thing ive noticed as i progressed through more competitive leagues of basketball is how aggressive and athletic defenders get. brb dribbling and get cleanly insta-stripped.

NBA would take that to an entirely new level that my angus would not be peppered for, i probably couldn't even get the ball past half-court if they pressed me tbh lol.

Wouldn't even be able to catch the ball srs... they would body me up or I would just be too slow. Even if I caught it, it would be an instant turnover.

The one example I can't get over...
David Ortiz ran the bases in a playoff game at a clip that would translate to a 4.8 40. A 40 year old professional athlete that is retiring with ankle and leg problems ran a 40 faster than 75% of the misc.

I agree , ppl always bash regular season NBA game for lack of work , intensity, etc.

but if you sit in the first 20 rows or so, you can see how hard those guys are working, banging for rebounds. chit is intense. I'd be hurt after 3 mins no doubt.

Again i think most of us could grab a few rebounds, Steve nash would snag 5 rebounds / game every once in a while. We could do that.
maybe make 1 open shot if someone were kind enough to drive, penetrate and pass off to you.

0 touches, winded 2 minutes in, never get close to the ball and my team is playing 4 on 5 defense

This, brb can't dribble without getting ball stolen, cant shoot vs guys taller, longer and more athletic who can actually jump (white man hops here). The best of the sports misc might be able to make a couple prayers from the outside taking wild shots but would get obliterated in all aspects of the game

I am actually a pretty handy player.

I played for Australia at junior level (16's, 17's, 18's) and represented my state (Western Australia) at some international tourney's.

I was actually awarded a D1 scholarship in the states, but at 19 I was in a car accident and my knee was crushed pretty bad, took me like 5 years to fully rehab.

I am back playing 1st grade rec basketball and last year won league MVP and averaged 30+ a game.

With NBA rules for defensive 3 seconds, i would back myself to get to the basket and get some buckets.

Maybe 6 points?

0-3 points... atheletic defender all over me, impossible to score, maybe I was wide open like Curry sometimes and hit a 3.

0 rebounds... im only 6'1, 7'0 center trump all over me.

maybe 1-3 assists, I would still pass the ball to teammates, one of them will make it.

5 turnovers, enemy defender would steal ball from me, reflecting my pass, me unable to control the ball etc
