Hey guys,

Started playing sports again for the first time in years, and my cardio has been absolute garbage. Some of the games are late at night, so I have to manage what I eat during the day, to avoid cramps.

Any tips/advice on how I should be eating during the day, and before the game?

Thanks guys!

Eat whatever you want, trial and error; find what allows you to personally perform best.

Are you talking about stomach cramps or muscle cramps? How long are these games (and what sport)?

Unless your worried about poor indigestion, there's really nothing too major to worry about here. Would just focus on making carbohydrates the main source of calories.

Stomach cramps, the game is ball hockey (2 halves x 25 minutes), it's similar to basketball in the stop and go, but not much jumping.

I'd make sure to stay hydrated and have water + electrolytes leading up to the game and during it. Also, maybe try carb sources that are lower in fiber and limiting dairy in your pre-game meal.
