View Full Version : The cardinals lineup looks terrible

Heyward is gone, Holliday is 36 years old, molina is getting old. There really isn't any proven hitters on this team anymore other than carpenter. Not to mention half the lineup is injury prone. This might be a long year cardinal brahs

Good, sick of seeing them in the playoffs every year

I don't have them in the postseason this year.

Wouldn't surprise me. They have no offense. Their pitching is getting worst too. They just aren't as young anymore and unless they spend some money on abother decent starter and or a power bat they can't compete. Piscotty and grichuck have potential but they are going to have to produce to make it to the playoffs

They had a really unlucky offseason. Missed on Heyward, lost Lackey, lost Lynn to TJ surgery, missed on FA pitching (they went for Cueto, right?), etc. I see them having a bad year for them but getting back quickly.

They're relying on a lot of young, unproven guys this year. Pham is already injured, forcing them to use Holiday in the outfield when they really didn't want to. Wong and Grichuk have looked lost in 3 games this season.

Wouldn't shock me if they still find a way to win 90 games though.

I'd trade a Cubs World Series for a Blues Stanley Cup but I'm not much of a baseball person anyway. I wouldn't mind seeing the Cardinals sucks ass for a change though, would really drive my in-laws nuts.

Yeah man we lost Jon jay and Reynolds too. We just don't have any consistent hitters anymore. I don't see them winning 80 games unless grichuck and piscotty deliver.....this season could be good or absolutely terrible. Reminds me of the 2007 cardinals lol

Wong and grichuck will hit the **** out of the ball for a month then go cold for 2 months. Very streaky hitters

I think Grichuk could deliver and hit 25+ HRs if he could stay on the field and play at least 150 games.

Dude has a long medical history though.

He's swings and misses a ton, too. He could be in for a really rough year.

I like what grichuk and piscotty can bring to the table and am actually glad the cardinals didn't sign anyone to have them platoon with. But this being their first full season being asked to be regulars may have them start off a bit slow.

Rotation also has the potential to be meh.

I also have the cards missing the playoffs this year too, which is weird to think of.

We didn't make that up. Other teams' players say that as well. It's pretty well known at this point that Cards fans are among the best in sports.

We also have a top 2 defense in the league and the rotation has been wonderful so far, though it was against the Rays.

If Stroman becomes the ace that everyone knows he can be and Sanchez pitches to his potential, Toronto has one of the better rotations in the league too

I agree.

I am not a Cubs fan but my dad is... we love watching them play the Cards @ Wrigley. Nothing but positive experiences... also very knowledgeable.

We went to Busch one year when they still had Pujols... again, great atmosphere, great people, great ball park.

How does Wong get picked off so much? He might be the worst baserunner I've ever seen. You think he'd learn his lesson after getting picked off to end a Wirld Series game.
