Apologies if this question has been asked before, but I am trying to get my head round Low Carb diets and thank you for your patience.

Firstly background. I am 5ft 11, 98 kg and as such the nutrition calculator on site recommends 200 gram carbs per day.

I understand the basics from reduced calorie diets that you reduce your daily intake by 500 calories to achieve a weight loss (in theory).

If I reduced carbs from 200 gram, to 100 gram would that achieve the effect of weight loss? Would it work even if I simply reduced down to 150 gram?

Weight loss occurs with a calorie deficit. You could do this with low carbs or not, it's down to your personal preference. Read here for more info Calculating Calories and Macronutrients (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=156380183)
