View Full Version : Last paragraph in Trump's "The Art of the Deal"

"Iíve spent the first twenty years of my working life building, accumulating, and accomplishing things that many said could not be done. The biggest challenge I see over the next twenty years is to figure out some creative ways to give back some of what Iíve gotten. I donít just mean money, although thatís part of it. Itís easy to be generous when youíve got a lot, and anyone who does, should be. But what I admire most are people who put themselves directly on the line. Iíve never been terribly interested in why people give, because their motivation is rarely what it seems to be, and itís almost never pure altruism. To me, what matters is the doing, and giving time is far more valuable than just giving money. In my life, there are two things Iíve found Iím very good at: overcoming obstacles and motivating good people to do their best work. One of the challenges ahead is how to use those skills as successfully in the service of others as Iíve done, up to now, on my own behalf."

Das it mane.

Instead he became a reality T.V star to boost his own ego, tried to get Vietnam veterans banned from legally street trading on the same streets as his towers and started a fraudulent University that ripped off thousands of Americans and had Judges comparing him to Bernie Madoff.

Yep he sure gave back in creative ways.

There was nothing fraudulent about Trump University.

Only reason NY AG was involved was because he had an issue with the term "university" because the school didn't award any degrees and wasn't accredited, therefore believing it "mislead" people into believing it's a legitimate degree program. For Trump, this was simply a licensing deal. Nothing more.

If they do, they will be to blame for losing to Shillary, they will probably lose the house and senate, and it will be the end of the Republican Party.

Would be a magnificently stupid move on their part.

I just don't see him getting the magic 1237 delegates. If he has yuuge wins in new york and california it will be close, but still, he needs like 58+% of the delegates. And somehow he lost 3 delegates in the last week.

To me, what matters is the doing, and giving time is far more valuable than just giving money.

Well isn't that a convenient excuse. That must be why no billionaire gives less to charity then the Trumpster.

He's a selfish, egotistical a-hole.

It would be great. The republican party, as it is now, needs to crash and burn for good.

This article states that he gave $3.7M of his own money to the Trump foundation, and then listed some donations the Trump foundation has made. The man has many companies, how many have each of them donated and how much has Trump personally donated to causes other than the Trump Foundation? It seems these questions are left unanswered by the article.

Donald Trump, widely believed to the be the wealthiest American ever to run for president, is nowhere among the ranks of the country's most generous citizens, according to an Associated Press review of his financial records and other government filings.

Well I can pretty much see where this is going. Another article doing the same limited analysis of the Trump Foundation. As stated in the business insider article:

It is possible that Trump has been donating money anonymously through avenues other than his foundation, whose tax records the AP reviewed.
