i started working out this summer and have been slowly gaining weight but the last few weeks i gained 5lbs 152-157-158.5. i cant realy notice it check out my progress pics in my profile. is it fat or muscle? should i start doing some cardio?

I assume your sodium intake is high?

my diet has not changed, and not a ton of sodium in it.

Stuff happens, sometimes not in linear fashion. Best way to tell if the added body weight is muscle or something else is to look at the numbers in your training logbook. If they show steady progression, you're good to go; if not, you need to step up your game.



It's always a good idea to include at least some cardio in one's training program, but for heart/lung health, and not necessarily as a hedge against gaining body fat.

Thanks i guess ill just keep my diet the same and add some cardio
