Not sure if anyone truly remembers this, but the Sixers were literally one game away from the ECF in 2012..taking the celtics to 7 games (ableit in a lockout season in which they were 35-51)

they could have been an upstart team and all they needed at the time from what it seemed what an imposing force down low..

lets not even talk about that disaster trade featuring him and Dwight in which everyone seemingly lost, but they banked on Andrew Bynum.....and he ended up screwing them royally. They've decided afterwards to go on this crazy rebuild.

If you dont beleive me look at their 2011-2012 roster. They could have built on that and been at the very least a fringe playoff team with decent enough pieces to build around. Now...LOL

Sixers management hired Hinkie who would rather start from scratch then try to contend with the pieces they had. The Sixers never had a legit shot of winning a championship, if they retained their players they would finish .500 every year or worse.

Let's be real, they weren't going to actually contend with a Big 3 Heat or any Lebron James led team in the East Conf.
They are taking the slow approach

would've been a treadmill team.

Were only in that Boston series because Derrick's knee failed him in the previous series.

Generally teams that fall in love with injury prone players don't do well
