So I've been on a quest to reduce the amount of estrogen, xenoestrogen and other estrogen-like chemicals found in many foods and beverages. It's a little disconcerting to me how much of this stuff is out there.

I have found some info saying dairy products are full of estrogen. Here is one source:

http://www.onegreenplanet.org/natural-health/how-dairy-affects-your-hormones/

Dairy milk accounts for about 80 percent of estrogen consumed through the human diet, along with the fact that milk from pregnant cows (which is how all milk products are produced) contains about 33 times as much estrogen as milk from non-pregnant cows.

I think somewhere on that webpage they claim casein protein has been linked to cancer. I'm not sure how much I believe that.

Milk has always been beloved as one of the most bodybuilding friendly beverages. Is it worth ditching dairy or do it's benefits out way it's drawbacks?

A vegan website is going to skew any information the way the want to. Dairy can be and should be a part of a balanced diet.

Read below on estrogens in milk.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/22192179/

If you will notice, the amount present in milk mainly higher fat milk is insignificant.

Yes, unfortunately there's a ton of fear mongering going on about soy.

Yes! And if they just looked into it for 30 seconds they would know it's bs instead of just repeating what they hear.

Raw soy beans might have some effect on estrogen levels, but soy isolates will not. The culprit for hormonal changes from soy consumption are the phytosterols. Phytosterols are precursors to sex steroids, so your body might convert them to estrogen. They are also lipids, so defatted soybeans and soy isolates won't cause you estrogen levels to increase.

Out of the lipid fraction of soy 2.5% are phytosterols. So that 0.1g of fat in your soy protein shake has 0.0025g of phytosterols or 2.5mg. In other words, nothing.

Compare that to the "vegetable" oil that your food is cooked with. That is usually 100% soybean oil.

Oh yeah and here is a link for anyone who want's to educate themselves a bit, or just want's to verify some of my numbers.
