Hi, im 19 and male who's 6"0 tall and im 253lbs and wanna lose weight. I started jogging in the mornings once i wake up for about 1 hour and started a diet i eat about 1,800 calories each day. Should i hit the gym too? Will lifting weights help me burn more fat? I was wondering if insanity or p90x is a good investment to lose weight fast? Thank you

http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

and

www.myfitnesspal.com

use those two and you'll lose weight if you follow a deficit add in weightlifting to preserve lbm and cardio to further increase deficit if you want. thats all there is to it.

Weightlifting x cardio (HIIT and steady pace) x large caloric deficit

Who cares what's fastest? That's like asking "Which diet is most likely to fail?" Same difference.

You want to make a lasting change as you likely have 75 pounds to lose.

Read the sticky topics in this forum and the workout program forum.

Cut your arm off. 15lbs gone is a 10 seconds.

You'll 100% be losing weight on 1800, pretty sure A LOT of people over 200 pounds would be able to cut on 2000. (Obviously speculation, but I never see anyone over 200 go lower than that)

Personally I'm cutting on 2200 right now with the occasional walk and feel like chit if I eat anything below 2200
