View Full Version : 3 protein shakes a day? Is it bad?

Im an ectomorph of decent size now. I'm starting to drink 3 protein shakes a day along side full meals. 2 protein shakes are regular 20 grams of protein taken throughout the day. The last one is 30 grams of casein taken before bed. Is this bad ?

shakes are fine to fill gaps or something quick before or after but real food is always my top choice.

Probably getting way more protein than you need; also you are not an 'ectomorph' as Erik said, you just do not eat enough.

If you diet contains the macros and micros you need it's fine.

It's not bad, if that's what you prefer. Although everytime you drink a shake, you're cheating yourself from eating delicious food.

Between a steak and shake, I choose steak.
Between chicken and shake, I choose chicken.
Between nothing and shake, I choose shake.

If u are eating 5-7 meals in a day, and still not gaining weight, then its ok to have shakes. But you are eating some little of real food that it would benefit you more to really start eating more and taking less shakes.

Nah man, chewing is like cardio for your mouth, you should only chew if you are trying to cut. If you want to put on weight just drink your food
