Hey everyone. Question on how my fitness pal gets the calories after adding up the protein, carbs, and fat for the day. For example, my gf by the end of the day will have eaten 165 grams protein, 97 carbs, and 31 fat. Now when I calculate that myself, I get 1327 calories. That is (165x4) + (97x4) + (319). My fitness pal comes up with 1261. I'm just wondering if I'm wrong or if my fitness pal is incorrect?

Thanks
Jon

Myfitnesspal isn't always accurate, you will get more accurate results by calculating it yourself from nutritional data on packaging and other online resources.

My fitness pal also has some pretty odd stats on foods...I think mostly because a lot of things can be user submitted so not the most reliable, but they are seemingly trying to solve this by 'validating' things now with the checkmark. I just always use the scanner to scan in everything I eat. I love the app though, very convenient.

One other thing to keep in mind is that some things are counted as carbs but 0 calories. Eryhritol comes to mind.
