Other tidbits

He is shooting an abysmal 37%(2-19 from the 3)
He is averaging 5.75 turnovers a game
One game winner

-Poor shooting. It's awful everyone knows that including himself. His outside shot has been pretty bad and there are times even when he gets point blank range and misses. However, he still manages to constantly dominate his defender and penetrates the defense for shots in the paint
- Turnovers are much higher than his average but it's expected. He is responsible for almost all ball handling duties due to Irving being injured so Turnovers are expected to go up. That's a given.
- All his numbers across the board are up from the regular season(including steals and blocks) while the percentages and TOs are down. But he is nearly averaging a triple double in this series against a defensive minded team.

So I ask myself, what exactly is Jimmy Butler doing on defense?

Forcing lebron go shoot 40%. You might say lebron is missing open shots, but the butler is making him take the shots butler wants him to take. Lebron getting defensive rebounds and passing to teammates that hit their shots (butler not on them) isnt on butler.

Butler is obviously doing a great job..... Without his defence Lebron would be avging 38/15/12!

Dammmmmmmmmmmmm.

If Russell Westbrook was putting up the #'s Lebron is posting in this series right now people would be calling him the GOAT lmao.

Lebron struggling with his shot right now, it won't last forever.

except WestGOAT put up better numbers in less minutes over the last 3 months of the season and was way more efficient and was called a chucker. Westbrook last 3 months: 31/10/9 on 55% TS without a million turnovers per game.

This entire post makes me furious. Is J. Butler really getting dominated when he's forcing Lebron to shoot a D-League level 37% and forcing turnovers? Sorry, if Lebron's scoring a lot of points off of a low percentage from the field, he's not being efficient, and he's lowering the potential amount of points his team could be scoring. Besides, when Lebron penetrates, it's help defense that's there to stop him from penetrating further. Why are you so quick to say Butler's doing nothing when he's doing just about everything correctly? He could box out better, but Lebron is a bigger forward, so the imbalance is unfortunately understandable.

Basically, Lebron's being inefficient. The high assists are because he's the team's primary facilitator (to justify Kyrie's 0 assist game), the turnovers are because he's forcing the ball, and his points are because he's purely a volume shooter. He took thirty shots today and made ten of them. That's not efficient, that's good defense from Butler, and bad offense from Lebron.

He's a poor (very) man's version of Westbrook.

You might just be retarded OP.

Lebron's averaging 41 mpg in this series vs. 36 mpg in the regular season.

If you extrapolate his regular season numbers to match the minutes he's playing this series, you'd get:

29.1 ppg, 8.5 apg, 6.9 rpg, 1.9 spg, 0.8 bpg, 4.5 topg, 48% FG, 35% 3P, 71% FT

vs. what he's actually putting up

26 ppg, 9 apg, 11.3 rpg, 1.8 spg, 1.2 bpg, 5.8 topg, 38% FG, 10% 3P, 85% FT

So basically you're asking what the Bulls are doing as a good defensive team and what Butler is doing when he's performing worse per minute in points, turnovers, FG%, 3PT%, TS%, AST/TO ratio, and only has an actual improvement in total rebounds (with the team's leading rebounder missing?)

Yeah, they're not doing anything at all.

Blatt needs to get a better job of getting LBJ on the move before catching the ball instead of having stagnant post ups or isos.
Hurts when Kyrie still isnt great at being a facilitator.

Otherwise, LBJ is shooting like chit and his shot selection is like that dude in pickup who thinks hes great so he takes too many contested fadeaway long jumpers.
