View Full Version : OKC Averaged 111 PPG From Feburary

until the end of the season. (They had an offensive rating of 113.4) Both would be ranked #1 over the course of the season. But Russell Westbrook "chucking" was the issue.. ayyy lmao. OKC's offense with Westbrook is elite and there's no reason for them to change they're style of play- its they're defense which is costing them. (departure of Thabo, arrival of Kanter, injuries to Ibaka, Durant)

OKC offense before Feb 1: 99 ppg, 104.9 offensive rating
OKC offense after Feb 1: 111 ppg, 113.4 offensive rating

its a shame. OKC vs Warriors would have been a matchup of the two most explosive offenses in the league and the 2 most dynamic players in the game. Scores would have been in the 120s. Westbrook would've been putting up 40 point triple doubles. Instead we get the Pelicans's E-league brand offense (bottom 3 in pace).

- Defense wins championships
- 7-7 after Ibaka injury
- westbrook and crew disregard Defense
- 29th in the league in defense after Ibaka injury
- westbrook the new Harden
- Brb my favorite player is the best cause he gets fantasy bball stats.

meh that's part of what makes sports so entertaining. Still think people are sleeping on Durant. It was just last year when he had a season for the ages and now all of a sudden everybody's hyping Anthony Davis as the "heir to the throne". In today's era perimeter oriented players are more impactful. At the end of the day Anthony Davis needs the Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday's of the world to give him the ball in a position to score (defenses better than ever guarding you off ball) while as Westbrook/Durant are in control of the ball the entire way.

Durant's got that Yao Ming injury tho...he might be closer to http://www.*******.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/flabbynsick.png than an MVP right now.

their tempo was insane. part of the reason why they gave up so many points but the main reason was that they had the worst paint defense in the league.

Their tempo is all a product of Westbrook. Dude's a one man fast break. Outside of Westbrook the rotation they used wasn't even suitable for an uptempo team (kanter/adams can't move, roberson/singler/waiters/collison/mcgary/morrow aren't exactly athletes either) but they were still arguably the best offense in the league from Feb because of Westbrook.
