Hey everyone,
I'm currently on a lean bulk, and I've been creating a ~200 kcal surplus on training days. Today is an off day, and yesterday I hit legs really hard, so my hams and glutes feel like I've been shot. This means that the muscles are still repairing themselves. Should I go ahead and create a 200 kcal surplus today or not (since I'm not training)?

Keep in mind I'm trying to stay lean throughout this bulk.

Thanks.

You're bulking...everyday should be a surplus

When you estimate your maintenance, that takes an average of active and rest days into account. A TDEE of 2500, for example, doesn't necessarily mean you burn 2500 only on workout days. It means your rest and active expenditures average out to 2500.

Just to be consistent, I prefer to have the same intake every day.

This question comes up a lot. Consistency is very important, not only with your workouts and periods of rest, but also your nutrition and caloric intake. So I'd keep your daily calories the same whether it is a rest day or not.

Days on, days off, stick to the plan. Your muscles need recovery don't they?
