View Full Version : Really confused about Cutting, I feel like I'm doing it wrong. Please Help ME

My maintenance calories are: 2,500 cals per day

I'm cutting on: 2,000 cals per day

That puts me at MINUS 3500 cals for the week

But...I also do Cardio 5 times a week, burning on average 400 cals per workout

That puts me at ANOTHER MINUS 2000 Cals for the week

So in total, I am at MINUS 5500 for the entire week

I've been eating strictly 2,000 cals a day. So on workout days, I'm only consuming 1,600 calories? Is this correct?

Should I be eating more on workout days to compensate for the calories I burned?

example: If I burn 400 cals on workout days, then should I be eating 2,400 calories so I stay at 2,000 instead of eating only 2,000 and getting only 1,600?

Maybe that's why I feel weak because I'm only eating 2,000 calories on Workout days when I'm burning 400 calories, therefore I'm only getting in 1,600 calories?

Should I eat 2,400 on workout days instead?

Your cardio should already be factored into your maintenance calories, if not I would suggest working things out again.

I'm 5'8'', was 189, does cutting on 2,000 seem about right? It said my maintenance was 2,500 cals so I subtracted 500 cals and here I am.
