So when Brown says that Calipari's Wildcats, who are 34-0 entering NCAA tournament play and have won by an average of 20.9 points per game, are good enough to be an NBA playoff team, one takes notice.

"I don't want to put pressure on John," Brown said Wednesday. "I feel real close to him. I'm so proud of what he's done. I think they'd honestly make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference if they were in the NBA."

Wasn't that impressed with UK yesterday and haven't been that impressed with them much this season period. They're decent but they're not the super team the media wants to make them out to be. They're a product of the watered down state of college basketball. There's a handful of teams just in the past few years I'd argue were better.

Lmao Kentucky couldn't beat the Lakers let alone the Sixers.

i gotta believe that they wouldnt be able to beat the sixers. esp with how the sixers have been hanging with other NBA teams. nerlens would take a giant dump on his alma mater
esp with how he has developed.

Larry Brown is going full retard or totally trolling.

Make the playoffs? As already said, they couldn't even beat the 76ers let alone make the playoffs.
They would get massacred by any half decent NBA team.

whether they would win or not isn't exactly the point here IMO

it just puts in perspective of how much respect the eastern conference gets

everyone knows it's just trash for professional standards

Exactly. That's why the West wins every year. I mean if the West didn't win every year, how embarrassing would that be?

Larry Brown is probably the greatest (collective of both) NBA/college coach in basketball history. Him saying this really makes you think why he sees it that way. It's not like he's a sports miscer who just randomly blabs out what he thinks.

I personally think he just sees the lEastern Conference as a joke.

Well... since 1998, the last time the East was superior to the West, the West has won the NBA title 11/16 times

when you have that much easy rides to the finals and face a team that's beat up physically, you already have a head start lol

But the West is so much stronger and the East is such a joke that shouldn't matter right? I mean a NCAA team could beat anyone in the East right?

Kobe stans respects the NBA enough to not make predictions like that. Lebronies think Lebron is god, and will win the title every year. That's why they're dumb as **** and they fall every time.

one time a poster on here gave a whole spill about how it has to do with geography. basketball players tend to want to play in the Western states with better weather like Texas or California, and not bitterly cold and dislocated places like New York and Detroit.

i disagreed with him but he persisted, and he had a point.

splitting the conferences geographically was probably a bad idea. the MLB and NFL don't do that.

Drafts since 2011 have been pretty underwhelming

A few stars like Davis, Irving, Lillard, Klay have come up but it's not enough to turn around an entire conference lol

These things take time. A long time.

There is a reason why SMU lost to UCLA last year. Dumb ass coaches turn their players into dumb ass players and goaltend 3 pt shots.

I honestly feel like a dumbass saying this because really, the 76ers, Knicks, Wolves, etc would all beat kentucky by 25+. But if they played a full NBA schedule, id have them going 3-79. I think by mid season theyd get used to nba teams where they could get within 20pts and maybe upset a bottom feeder.

Edit: I change that to 1-81, and really the over/under on wins should be .5 and id contemplate the under.
