Those other defenses only got it done for a season, while this defense has been the best for the last few seasons and has immensely helped the team reach b2b SBs

This is a Seattle post I can agree with.

Its cemented its status as top-5 but the 2000 Ravens had 5 games without a single touchdown on offense, gave up 1 FG in each of the 3 playoff games they played on the road and 1 TD in those games, and only allowed 1 TD/7 points in the Superbowl.

Its hard to wrap your head around how absurd that season was...2 TDs, 3 FG's on the road for 4 games in the playoffs...23 points combined....thats insane.

I went to every home game that year. Even the playoff game against the Broncos. The speed of that defense was something else. Everybody chits on Trent Dilfer, but that offense could not score a touchdown until Banks was benched and Dilfer replaced him. Tony Banks was just pathetic.

Fukkin lol thinking this seahwaks defense is comparable to the 2000 ravens. Fukkin lmao.
So you're saying russel Wilson is about as good a QB as Trent dilfer?

Where was the defense in 01?

In one thread, people will argue that the rules were more defensive friendly when arguing against a certain seahawk manlet. And in the next thread, said people conveniently forget that. Weird.

I could be mistaken, but my guess is the 00 ravens and 85 bears didn't play manning, Brady or Rodgers in an offensive juggernaut era?

IMO this is the only reason the Bears didn't have back to back super bowl wins... Can't do much without your starting QB in the playoffs.

The Bears defences of the mid 80s were scary. Everyone regards that 1985 defense as the best ever or 2nd best ever, but nobody cares about their 1986 defense, which was better in many statistical categories.

With McMahon in, they probably beat the Skins, and then you'd get the greatest defensive showdown of all time with the Monsters of the Midway vs the Big Blue Wrecking Crew instead of Washington getting destroyed by NYG
