No matter how much his athleticism fades he will always have footwork of the gods, holeeefuk

The Dream is probably the only player that comes close.

It seems like an illusion when Kobe works his feet.

Nah you just posted a pull up jumper and a post move, which look about the same on any other guy. The guy with the GOAT feet goes to Hakeem.

But who was Hakeem the Dream?

Came in to say hakeem. EVERYONE says it before me.

Kobe is top 2-3 at worst though. Too bad his team is absolute trash this year. He is really only playing for the scoring title since lesbianist, playoffs are out of the question this year and possibly next unless they grab a rondo/rubio, marc gasol, etc type.

Kobe is amazing but that isn't "footwork" thats dribbling and bouncing your butt high against he defender and turning fast.... i thought this would of been footwork of through the legs back n forth to the bucket.

Kobe and Hakeem have equally great footwork, IMO.

Dirk's is pretty incredible too.

u wot? Have you ever tried to post up any half-decent defender against a team that knows help defense? Most players would tie their feet into knots attempting that chit.

One of my favorite shots ever. Steph Curry's and Melo's are pretty slick too.

I post up defenders all the time.

Also, can you show me a player that ties his feet into knots when attempting those moves? I bet it looks lulzy as fuk.

Jordan's drop stepped killed Bryant's.

Pierce hasn't had lifts for years and was never fast, and he's been making a living toasting people with his footwork.

Will be playing in the Garden next year.... The real one...

I dunno if it's Melo's footwork that's necessarily nice, but even at his "puffiest" he was fast A F after he would take a shot.... I think he may be the best in the NBA in getting his own rebound and going up for a 2nd, and 3rd even 4th attempt till it goes in or he gets fouled... He's lost weight, but when he wasn't lean, he had some serious deceptive quickness.... He does have good footwork don't get me wrong, and a good pump fake he mixes in well with his catch and shoot game... He might be one of, if not the best (or top 2-3) offensive players in the NBA, with his ability to score from every spot.... His D is getting better too... I'm interested to see what Melo can become after a few years under Phil....

That being said, wouldn't MJ be in the top 3-5 footwork?

NBAtv Open Court. Hall of Famers discuss the past & current game

They marveled at how Larry Bird had pin point fundamentals. As did many of the greats back then because THEY ATTENDED COLLEGE. And in Larry's case for 3 seasons.

They noted that players without College experience don't always make the correct read, decision or body move and they stated Kobe and James as examples.

Kobe went to Hakeem to improve his foot work lol srs

Hakeem teaches footwork on the block and he teaches post moves. That's why Kobe and others have gone to him in the past.

Not the biggest Kobe fan, but Kobe has the best footwork of all time.

Completely agree.

Disagree on his longevity though. Kobe will see a steep decline this season. Shooting nothing but midrange fadeaways is just not efficient. He looks slow.

These (plus Hakeem).

Too many young miscers ITT who probably didn't even watch the NBA before 2000.

Honorable mention too to Dirk and Bird... 2 guys who weren't gifted athletically but excelled due to incredible footwork.

Pierce's does somehow manage to get open without speed, but his footwork has never been that impressive imo. It's moreso how he uses his body to create space

Hakeem is GOAT. He routinely made David Robinson, one of the best defenders in league history, look like a chump on the block. Not to mention completely destroying a prime Shaq in the finals. Might as well add Pat Ewing to the list. Dude was a mirage down low. Complete player, used great footwork on defense also.
