View Full Version : Demaryius Thomas is the best WR in the league right now.

Big receiver with steady hands (aside from before the bye week)
Burner speed (see first play of OT where he took a short Tebow pass over the middle to the house to win it)
Extremely strong + physical to break tackles, especially on his screens
No major injury history
Always gets his even though everyone knows hes the clear #1 and go to guy

Even with Peyton feeding him, DT is a BEAST after the catch. Led the league in YAC last year

Who the fuk else is better?
Jordy and Dez the only one worth bringing up.

Megatron is on the same level as DT if he's ever on the field and stops dropping balls (especially the important ones)
AJ Green... close, but no.

Rarely comes through in the clutch and has a glass ankle right now. Can't be the best, let alone far and away, when you can't even get on the field this season.

Forgot about Dez, he's definitely up there. Still gets his when everyone is keyed in on him. His attitude issues have gotten better too.

But who was Percival Harvin?

What has he done recently?

Ridiculous combination of strength and speed.

This. Literally looks like a horse when running.

226 yds and 2 TD vs Cardinals Defense. Could have been 300 and change yards and 3 TDs if it weren't for a dumb penalty.

Yeah brah, it's not like that ARZ secondary has been exposed throughout the seas.....oh wait.

Bet you think Carolina still has a good defense, too.

DT gains a LOT of his yards after the catch and after wrecking corners trying to tackle him

He played like 11 games that season and that was after he broke his finger and had to sit a few weeks too

Set SB record for receptions with a separated shoulder

And he was horrible before the bye week. Very unlike him at all.

Easy to set the record for receptions when you're staying away from the best corner in the game.

Demarius Thomas is 8th in the league in receiving yards, and 9th in touchdowns.

Okay.

DT is now 4th in yards with 1.9 yds more avg, and is 2nd in TDs (6). Has the highest yds/game.
The 3 guys ahead of him (Jordy, TY, Julio) haven't had their byes yet.

You could make a case for Jordy off his stats alone but I don't think he's in the elite #1 WR status like DT and Dez. He's definitely #2 tier at the very least, reaching at #1. But he just isn't as monstrous as DT and Dez.

Jordy is def a #1 elite WR. Guy is a beast.

Id put DT on the level of Brandon Marshall. Without Peyton DT would be a good WR but not a great one.

DT did decent with Tebow throwing him ducks and John Fox building a run-heavy offense around Tebow.
Sophomore season, 2011, 32 rec on 70 targets. 551 yds / 17.2 average YPC on the season (career high), 4 TDs.

No, Megatron and Dez are the best. Then there's a toss up between AJ Green, Demaryius Thomas, and Julio Jones.

Demaryius Thomas has the goat QB throwing to him.

How the fuk can you be the best when you're on the sidelines in sweats? GTFO with that ish.
Julio Jones dropping balls just like the Falcons dropping Ls. He can be beast though when Matty Ice is killin it and when he remembers how to catch. Still definitely worth that trade.

I agree. OP said best WR RIGHT NOW

DT, Jordy and Antonio Brown are the best Right now. Dez is close to these guys but Terrance Williams is leeching into his greatness

No way Megatron can be the best right now when he hasnt scored a single point in 8 weeks.

Personally I'm not sold on Jordy or Brown.

DT and Dez have the speed and physicality, making them well rounded overall receivers who can either burn or bruise DBs (usually both at the same time).
I see Brown as a speedy guy, and Jordy as an opportunistic guy who has capitalized on Rodgers always looking for him and somehow making the impossible pass.

DT and Dez can take a no-gain screen pass and turn it into an 80 yard TD. I don't see anyone else being able to do that. These guys command respect from the DBs--that's how Welker got his TD last night. All DT did was step back off the snap and it drew in two DBs because of how dangerous he is.

Yeah brah, it's not like that ARZ secondary has been exposed throughout the seas.....oh wait.

Bet you think Carolina still has a good defense, too.

Arizona has only given up 300+ passing twice this season one to Peyton (479) and one to Cousins (354). They also picked Cousins off 3 times one of which went for a pick 6. I mean I'd hardly call that being exposed, but I'm sure you just grabbed the latest yards per game stat and ran with it not looking any deeper. Also in 6 games Arizona has faced 3 of the top 6 best passing offenses....any other teams done that?

Not even an Arizona fan, but to try and act like Denver and Thomas can't throw on the Patriots and Reevis is crazy talk. Especially considering that the Patriots highest ranked passing offense was 16th when they faced the Bengals.
