Hi, I'm Christi... I'm super new here and already ready to give up! I've been trying to lose weight for a about 2 1/2 years, I joined the gym in December after finishing insanity... I started a lifting class that I do 3 times a week... My weight has not changed in the last 4 months and I'm seeing little body changes... I started doing Atkins about 3 weeks ago and have only lost 4lbs... What do I need to to next or where do I start? Thanks

If you're not losing weight then that means you're not eating at a deficit.

She doesn't need to eat clean to lose weight.

It helps.

Want to elaborate? Losing weight comes down to eating at a calorie deficit. If she's not in a deficit, so-called "clean eating" is NOT going to help.

Welcome, OP. I'd recommend taking a look at the "calculating calories and macros" sticky in the nutrition forum to figure out what your calories and macros should be set at for losing. You can find that here:

Once you've calculated your calorie level, aim for 0.5 grams of fat per lb of bodyweight, around 1g protein per lb and the rest of your calories in whatever (protein, fat or carbs) you prefer.

It doesn't really. She just needs to eat less.
