Glad to finally see a men's physique section on these forums.

Feel free to ask me anything men's physique related and I will do my best to answer accordingly!

Really glad to see you starting a thread!
Have always been a fan of yours since I started following physique, and (hopefully) plan on competing in my first show in the 2015 season.

What was your first show like?
How did you place?
Looking back on the experience, what would you do again during your prep and what would you change?

Wow! I don't follow Men's Physique too much, but it's really cool to have a one of the Physique pros posting here on the forum so soon! For what it's worth, Sadik, I had you winning at last year's Olympia. All the top 4 or 5 guys really stood out as the best though.

My first show went well considering my lack of experience. I had limited diet/nutrition knowledge and limited posing knowledge. I actually just watched the guys routines that went on stage and winged it. Hell, I didn't even shave my body. With all that being said I still placed second. The two things I learned from that experience was--
A. I need to really focus on my diet, water manipulation, and posing.
B. That if I applied myself then I would be able to go far in this division.

Awesome to have you on here, BIG fan of your IG.

Who are the strongest physique competitors you've trained with, some of their lifts?
What would you change about physique as far as the judging/posing goes?
If you could go back and talk to your 18 year old self and tell him anything, what would you say?

If you ever come remotely close to leaving your current condition of a grocery store bag lady, you'll know that this is a physique sport and that showing the lower abdominals is a good indicator of how lean you are. Now there's a clean-up on isle 9 you worthless manlet. Get busy.

If you could go back and talk to your 18 year old self and tell him anything, what would you say?

Strongest physique competitor that I have trained with is probably Russell Waheed. We have trained together more then a dozen times and I find myself often hurting afterward. Craig Capurso is also very strong but I haven't had the privilege do training with him.

When it comes to the judging I don't invest very much thought into it. All I have control over is the package I bring to stage and how I present it.

If I could go back and talk to the teenage Sadik I would tell myself to medium sized eat clean meals more often (rather then 2-3 huge meals).

What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome in the road to the olympia ?

My biggest obstacle was myself. Competing in the big show was very difficult mentally, especially when the internet was going crazy with predictions. I defiantly felt the pressure. I often found myself turning off my phone notifications once i reached four weeks out. It's important to stay out of your own head. "Make sure your biggest enemy doesn't live between your own two ears".

SadikHadzovic

Do you do anything special for peak week? Water manipulation, less cardio, more carbs etc?

I keep carbs pretty low for the last 3-4 weeks. The only meals I eat to fill out are steak and sweet potato the night before the show then I repeat that meal the morning of my show.

If I compete on Saturday I usually stop cardio on Tuesday. If you have to do cardio all the way up to your show. Then your not ready.

I usually water load one week out, then eventual taper down the water to 50oz the day before the show. I then use natural diuretics such as vit-c and b6 to help tighten up.

Hey Sadik,

First let me say I really admire the package you bring to this game. Do you alter your training routine to specifically train for MP in terms of the frequency you train certain muscle groups or any other training principles? Also, what is your take on bulking/cutting versus staying at a lower BF year round? I've seen a lot of physique competitors who never seem to get above 10%.

SadikHadzovic

Dave Palumbo said he sees you at Bevs training for 3 hours every day; is this true?

Yes. I love training most my workouts are at least 2hrs long. The last few weeks of show prep I lower that to 30-45 minutes to maintain fullness.

Yes. I do a lot of cross training circuits in the morning on a fasted stomach. Then I train as a bodybuilder would every evening. Yes I bulk up and get off my diet and supplements completely. I often don't even have visual abs on the offseason. It's what works best for my specific body.

Just posting to say thanks for the starting this thread and to rep. Will be following read your advice!

I guess one thing I'd be interested in knowing is what is the lifestyle like for a pro fitness competitor. What are some of your favorite things about being where you are now and how has it affected your life. When did you decide this was who you wanted to be and what influenced that choice?

ScottFlear

How much cardio would you do 8 weeks out? Would you do 30-40 minutes low intensity 2-3x a week with a HIIT session or do you stick to what you said in a previous response - crossfit type ciruit every morning?

Also what are your macros when you are content prepping + how many meals per day?

PS. this section has started off with a bang! Good to have you on here Sadik, amazing shape.

Hey Sadik,

Good to have you here!

My question to you is: what are your thoughts on the way MP competitions currently are? I'm referring to the way you guys compete without hitting any poses besides turns ?

If there is a petition on allowing a few muscle poses (front double bi, back double bi and abs shot at least) would that be something you would vote for to have or are you happy with things as they are?

I tried undercover pro's tips to getting even bad calf brahs to get bigger calves.. I hit them super hard for like 6 months. Then I got injured and haven't hit calves since late March. Honestly they are still around the exact same size lol. Miniscule difference. Training them somehow seems to do nothing

My lifestyle is very different then a lot of the other pros. I say this because I am one of the few guys in my division that has a full time career outside of this industry (I work in Realestate I case anyone was wondering). I don't let this hinder my progression though. I like staying busy and I like having two careers.

I decided from a young age that I wanted to be jacked and always fantasized about the body I would like to have when "I grow up"

The cardio and macros all depends on how I look 8 weeks out. No two preps are the same so it's constantly a learning experience. But usually I do 25minutes of hiit followed by 15 minutes of plyos. The ploy training can vary from dips, pull ups, push-ups, abs, medicine ball slams, jumping squats, battle ropes, all depends what I feel like that particular morning.

As for nutrition I usually eat 7 meals/day one of those meals being a shake.

1. On the offseason I don't count my macros. I just eat as much clean food as possible since i am such a hard gainer. I like to get anywhere between 230-240lbs on the offseason. Having abs or missing a meal in the offseason does not concern me.
2. Michael Anderson, Matt Christinar to name a few.
3. 455lb bench, 495 squat, 495 dead... But it has been a very long time since I have tried to 1RM
4. Sure... Once I figure out how to (I'm new here)

Yes, hit them at least 2x/week and start your leg day with 12 sets of calves before leg pressing and/or squats. You'll notice them getting a lot more activated that way. Also hold contractions at top for 5 seconds and flex your calves. It's all bout that blood flow

I have had this problem before... I seen a good sports therapist that actually noticed it and realigned my whole body. It's good to do once a year find a good chiro/sports therapist to help you! This can be cause by anything from years of weight training, sleeping habits, car accidents, etc...

Sun: back and chest

Tues: legs
Wens: rest
Thur: back and chest
Fri: arms and delts
Sat: legs

That's how I out on all my mass (hard gainer)

Sadik, congrats on your 2nd place at the Olympia.

I know from the many interviews I've read from you that you are a very humble and respectful person, so I feel that you will be very gracious about your placing. No disrespect to the winner, but I felt strongly that you deserved to win.

But again, your hard work and discipline paid off with a 2nd place finish. Be proud of yourself and best of luck in the future.

Sadik, congrats on placing 2nd at the Olympia! I admire your physique and thought you deserved 1st place. I also wanted to applaud you for your ethos and for being down to earth.

I would love your feedback on a couple of questions:
- Does it work better just for you to consume all your carbs before your workout, or would you recommend it to everyone? How does that affect your results compared to eating most carbs after your workout (like most in here do)?
- What is your favorite exercise for shoulder mass gain?
- Do you consider the theory of rising cortisol after 1 hour of working out a myth?
- Do you hang out in NYC often, and do you have a spot you like?

Thanks!

3. 455lb bench, 495 squat, 495 dead... But it has been a very long time since I have tried to 1RM
4. Sure... Once I figure out how to (I'm new here)

Wow, that's a crazy high bench. Are most physique competitors that strong, or are you the exception?

Sadik, I'm a huge fan and I have followed you for years.

I was wondering what your thoughts were on the future of mens physique? Do you feel like they'll start to incorporate more legs or poses in the shows? Also, what are your contest measurements (arms, chest, calves, etc)? What about in the offseason? I know that the mens physique guys are huge, but I don't know exactly what measurements they have.

Thank you!

Hey Sadik....two questions.

1. What did you weigh for the Olympia this year?
2. What do you plan on working on and how much would you like to weigh for your next contest?

Thanks brother...I am not in the minority at all I know, but you should have had the top spot at the O this year. Great reaction to coming in second though. Stay humble and kind always and you will do well.

For muscle mass I have great success with this split

Sun: back and chest
Mon:arms and delts
Tues: legs
Wens: rest
Thur: back and chest
Fri: arms and delts
Sat: legs

That's how I out on all my mass (hard gainer)

Hi Sadik, I am a big fan of you, I think you are inspiring the whole world for body building

I have few question for you :

1. I heard that you train 3-4 hours a day, did you split it to morning and evening or just in one time per day ? If you split it, did you train different muscle in the morning and evening ?
2. When the first time you start seriously build your body ?
3. You have amazing delt, what is the key to build massive delt like that ?
4. I never find in youtube your video about abs training, how your abs program dude ?

sorry i ask a lot question bro

Not sure if Sadik is still posting here or not but anyone else who wants to leave their input on this question feel free. My question is how does someone like Sadik improve after last year? IMO he is 100% the kind of physique and as long as he comes in as he always does should win every competition, but the only negative feedback I've ever seen on him is he's "too big" or "too conditioned". What is someone supposed to do who hears that? Get smaller? Lose conditioning, anyone have any input?

A question Sadik, how's your food schedule the same day that you compete? Best luck

Usually I eat top sirloin and potatos the night before competing. I usually repeat that meal in the morning. Meal 2 before hitting stage will be chicken or tilapia with about 4oz of sweet potatos then I will graze on dry oats backstage while pumping up.

Thanks!

1. I eat all my carbs in my first 3 meals of the day... I don't train till the evening. Meals 4,5, and 6 will usually consist of carbs from vegetables only.
2. Super setting dumbbell side raises with dumbbell presses!
3. Never heard of it to be honest.
4. I prefer to hang out in Astoria... I like going to grand cafe. But I don't go out much lately

The future of the MP division is HUGE. It's growing at a rapid pace and I'm excited to ride on this roller coaster. I do not believe they will ever incorporate "more leg" as for posing... They seemed to like my most recent routine (I incorporated a few new things and luckily the judges received it well).

Just popping in here to say thanks for the new workout, Sadik. I started your workout (with a few variances on keeping my deads/squats high) a few weeks ago as something new to try and it's something. My shoulders and chest have grown in a month and are sore for most of the week. It's fantastic. Thankfully, I'm rebounding from my show last month or I wouldn't have the energy for it. You're an inspiration, my man. Hope to meet you one day, be it in person or on stage.

Hey Sadik, I'm a huge fan of yours. Really nice to see that you acutally come here and answer questions!

1. Do you have a preference in what rep/set range has worked best for you when building mass, or do you have heavy/light periods? Personally I try ignore the weight and instead focus on the tensions with the muscle, what do you think about that?
2. I'd like to compete in a year or so (currently trying to put on mass), what would the first steps be for a 1st timer?

How much did you weigh, bench, etc. and at what age did you start to see results that were getting close to how you looked when you started modeling/competing. Also what is your opinion on lifting belts? All your advice on this thread has been great, and in my opinion it could have easily gone either way at the O this year.

He has a transformation picture on his Instagram that shows him at the same bodyfat, smaller, but with a wider waist. Now he has a smaller waist, is bigger, and similarly as lean. The only thing that changed was, he started using the belt/corset.

We're not talking about his hips bro, a lot of people get waist and hips confused. We're talking a few inches above his belly button. You're not going to see that difference from the front, but rather the side aka does his gut seem smaller. An vacuums can give better control over the gut as well.

Red = Waist
Green = Hips

The hips start in line with the base of the penis.

Even then, wearing it will not do anything to improve vacuum potential. Genetics and intra-abdominal strength will be the most dominant factors.

1. As much as you can for as long as you can. If you put in little effort you will get little reward, the same as if you put in maximum effort you will reap maximum rewards!
2. It all depends on how hard you are training! 1400 calories is extremely low for someone like me who spends upwards to 3 hours in the gym and is constantly on my feet all day.

Because through years of trial and error I noticed that I have foods that absolutely work for me and foods that do not. Does it bother you when gay people tend to stare at you or seem like they have a crush on you?

Did you always have a big appetite?

In the case I do visit NY someday, what time do you usually train in Bev's? PM me if you don't wish everyone else to know. I'm all the way in South East Asia.

How old are you?

What time do you usually wake up and sleep?

I agree, it really is a shame that bb.com censors so heavily but if folks like Sadik are willing to play by the rules then I'm willing to take what I can get. Would love to sit down and have an uncensored chat with him though, for sure...

I know, right. Wouldn't it be nice to have a professional actually discuss that one major element in attaining his look, and detail (at least to a degree) his specific approach in that portion of his prep.

A lot of extreme newbs are following men's physique mainly because it looks considerably more attainable than anything else... Yet we've got the poster boy shelling out misleading information with an epic grin on his face in the middle of the most visited bodybuilding forum on the internet. Thumbs up to your face. Middle finger under the table to quote Gregg Valentino...

No way in hell I would be able to sleep at night doing that bull****, no matter how much I would try to justify it being "part of the game" and all that other trash. Now I know about the other issues of legality and what not, but it makes a LOT more sense to just cut the shiit altogether and not sit around discussing "diet and training" in a half-ass Q&A.

Sadik is on MD from what I know... Dunno if they actually have no bullshiit Q&As over there though.

Hey Sadik ! Such a big fan. A breath of fresh air to see a Pro at the top so humble and connected to his fans.

1. How does your training (and Mens physique training in general) differ from the training of those in the bodybuilding division ? Or are the determining factors of how someones body looks based on genetics ?

2. Any tips to bring up a lagging chest and to be able to feel it a bit more during the different chest movements ?

Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing you take the Win at the Olympia this year !

1. Personally my training is very much like a bodybuilders other then the fact that I may add in some circuit style training toward the end of my cardio. But I still have the conventional Chest Monday, Back Tuesday, etc... structure

2. With a lagging chest its important to check your form. Really make sure you roll your shoulders blades back and extend your chest forward on your pressing movements. Once you know how to correctly press I then recommend super setting flys and presses throughout the workout (example: 4 sets incline press, 4 sets incline fly, 4 sets flat bench, 4 sets flat flys, 4 sets decline press, 4 sets decline fly, 4 sets dumbbell pullover).

1. Yes, those are the worse the only thing you can really do is load up on joint formulas and work around them.
2. Yes I have done that... But only to crash diet before last minute photoshoots. Stuff like that doesn't slide when prepping for a show with the goal of being the very best in the world.

1. How is your sodium leading up to a contest I see you get very low sodium foods weeks out, is that so your body will adjust to the increase of aldosterone that will accompony the drop?
2. As far as carbs the last week do you do a depletion and then load up 3 days before I saw on your instagram video that you get high glycemic and low glycemic, is it best to have the high glycemic foods on the first day of the carb-up then introduce the low glycemic sweet potato and eziquel bread?
3. Did you ever experiment with higher sodium foods like a hamburger and fries 2 hours before the show or a candy bar/simple sugar before stepping on stage?
4. what calculations do you go by to prevent spilling over or do you just have a set number and adjust accordingly as you see how your body reacts?
Also when do you introduce the B6 and Vitamin C
I will compete in my first show this weekend in the teen division and all these different gimmicks have me confused. At the same time theres a lot of different proffesionals that give various ways to go about a peak week.

1. Leading up to a contest I cut absolutely all sodium. I do this simply because this is when I look my best. Not everyone reacts well on zero sodium, some people need sodium for muscle fullness.
2. Carbs the last week are consistently low. My "carb up" will be an extra sweet potato and steak the night before my show, and I repeat that meal once more in the morning of the show. I don't carb up because I figure if I look good the weeks leading up to the show why mess with it.
3. Yes I have and I wasn't pleased with the results.
4. I don't have a set number I just know what foods and amounts work for me and what doesn't. I learned this by trial and error. My advice to you is middle of the road is best. Don't try and catch lightening in a bottle last minute. Drastically changing things one week out is taking a 90% risk to only look 10% better. It does not make sense to me.

Stop complicating things. If you look good doing A, B, and C then keep doing A, B, and C up until your show!

Hi sadik, i want to ask you about how your morning routine, could you show us how your Plyos like?

Here are a few examples--
A. 30 minutes cardio followed by 10 sets of pull ups alternated with 10 sets of dips
B. 30 minutes cardio followed by 10 sets of push ups alternated with 10 sets of deadlifts
C. 30 minutes cardio followed by 10 sets of 1 minute battle ropes alternated with 10 sets squats

You get the point just pick a few exercises that make you feel good and do them intensely.

I guess the biggest critique I get from the fans is the way my abs are on show day lol. Personally I think its best to train abs on the Tuesday before the show, just to avoid the risk of releasing water in the midsection. And backstage all I do is concentration push ups.

I saw you on Saturday at body expo in Birmingham. Just a curiosity really, when you're at an expo like that or fibo and working on a stand such as GAT. Do you get time to eat all your meals the same as you would normally or are you working solidly while you're there so nutrition has to take a back seat on those days?

Just a question Sadik.

How do you incorporate squads and deadlifts into you routine? I noticed these workouts are great at giving me strength and mass, but they seem to be making my waist/lower abs look thick. kinda buldges out.

What kind of volume/ rep scheme would you recommend for deadlifts and squats ? High reps? Low reps heavy weight?

1. Did you do carbs cycling for cut or maintenance?
2. If you do 2-3 hours on weight training, what is your fuel for pre workout and intra workout? Just bcaa or what
3. According to you, is it good for placing the biggest meal after workout? (high protein, high GI carbs)

I squat and dead lift twice/week. My theory is as many sets and reps with as much weight possible as long as you do not compromise your form.

If you notice your waist getting thicker then you only have one thing you can possible do... Make your lats, quads and delts bigger. By doing that you will create a more drastic V-taper illusion the judges are looking for.

Of course. I go through a depletion phase that can last for weeks. During this phase I can experience flatness, loss of strength, and hardness. Once my bodyfat and conditioning is where I feel it needs to be I will slowly increase either my carbohydrates or fats to fill back out.

Sadik, I know I've asked you multiple questions but you're a huge inspiration for me. Is there a specific training split you recommend? I'm a huge fan of the "body part per day" splits. Hello, Sadik. Big respect for your dedication to what you do. A few questions about lets say 1 week before a contest/photoshoot. Assuming, I am in already pretty low bodyfat and in acceptable conditioning with ratios 40:40:20. Do you believe there could be a drastic improvement for a week or so.

Do you recommend messing around with my sodium intake. Do you cut water just like 36-48h before the show/event completely or you gradually reduce the amount of water you consume. I drink almost 2 gallons of water for that week and I have tried it out a few times but I am not sure when exactly to start with loading on carbohydrates and water manipulation.
Do you consume fruits during your so called "peak weak" when you are filling out?

Any additional tips to get that final edge on the stage?

Thank you very much Sadik. You are an inspiration

Hey Sadik Whats up Bro, huge fan ! I wasn't sure where to find an answer to this question but as my favourite Competing athlete has a Q&A i thought why not here !

There seems to be a lot of misconception to this question and everyone gives different answers...

If the muscle you worked doesn't get sore the next few days, does that mean you're not really working it ? And also, sometimes i workout and my target muscle will burn like crazy, but other times not at all. If its not burning during my workout does it mean I'm not stimulating it effectively ?

Many Thanks Man ! Looking Forward to seeing you take the 2015 Olympia Title !

The word "too much" is subjective.

Particularly for me it would not be too much. I say try it out and if you notice you aren't fully recovering then make the necessary adjustments to your split/diet/rest.

For me particularly I yield great results cutting my sodium intake before shoots and shows. Although I cut my sodium others may not react as well as I do to this message. Some need sodium in their diet to look best.

I usually do not carb up unless I need to. If I notice my chest appears flat then I will add in an extra potato or cup of rice (I do not consider that a carb up). Use the mirror and decide if anything needs to be manipulated, it most cases a carb up is not necessary.

My diet does not consist of any fruits besides grapefruit.

More then half the time I usually do not feel muscle soreness either, it is normal.

Make sure you are paying attention to form and technique to best activate that target muscle. If your form is good you are fine, stop over thinking. Lift weights, eat, and recover.

Hi, Sadik

I want to ask few questions

1. When bulking, can you keep your abs seen? How did you get it? Is it because cardio or what
2. Is it important to do carbs cycling when you do clean bulking?
3. Can you actually keep your sixpack all the time?
4. How many years did you need to get the best shape of your body from the first time you train?

4. How many years did you need to get the best shape of your body from the first time you train?

1. I do not try to keep visible abs on the offseason. Offseason to me means a break both physically and mentally.
2. Its not important but its helpful to keep your metabolism firing on all cylinders. I prefer to carb cycle.
3. Yes, why not.
4. It took me 5 years to start noticing noticeable changes that I was happy with. Keep in mind when I started I had no athletic or gym experience at all.

How long do your prep's usually take? I know it obviously varies greatly from competition to competition, but for example how many weeks out have you started to prep for the olympia? And i know you previously stated that sometimes you would go all out in the offseason, so whats the longest prep you've ever had to do?

Also good luck this year in the olympia, I really think you got it this year! You'd be great as the face of the men's physique division.

What's your favourite muscle group to train and why?
Muscle group you're most proud of?
And muscle your trying to bring up the most for the coming shows?

I usually start my preps 12-10 weeks out. But this year I made an acception and have been preparing for this years Olympia ever since May.

Inbetween shows I usually weight anywhere between 222lbs and 240lbs. This year I did not exceed 210lbs.

My favorite is back because I find it the most fun. (Used to be my least favorite, I purposely trained my weaknesses till they become strengths).
Most proud of my deltoids.
Trying to bring up my lower lats and frontal abdominal thickness leading into the Olympia.

Hey Sadik, first off you are a big inspiration for me. I like your attitude towards training and humbleness. You should definitely upload more videos on your YouTube channel.

That being said I got some questions:

- When you are starting your diet, how much of a caloric deficit do you start at and at how much of a deficit are you when finishing your diet?

- Do you listen to music during your workouts and if so, what kind of? Do you have a favourite Artist/Song/Band?

- What's your opinion about dairy products? Do you drink milk/eat yoghurt?

- Do you track your macros all year round? What do they look like in offseason and during a diet?

1. I start my preps by gaining weight/increasing calories. I cannot tell you exactly how much of a calorie deficit I am in since every prep is different. But I will say I lose about 1/3rd of a pound every day for the last 30 days of prep.

2. Dairy is awesome! But I have virtually zero dairy in my diets during prep.

3. No I do not track my macros. On the offseason I give my metabolism a total break (I do not stay lean all year round).

Hi Sadik!

Its great to see someone at your level in the industry taking the time to answer questions online from fans!!

I was wondering if you could provide any posing tips? I have analyzed ALL of your contest posing routines and I can definitely say that you really stepped up your posing game once you started working with Kenny.

Also what size were the Oneill Jordy board shorts you wore at the Arnold Classic? They fit you very well and looked awesome!

Thanks again!

Huge fan of you Sadik! I met you last time in the Arnold! Really admire your work ethics! Just a question towards your morning cardio. What you gonna eat before the morning cardio session, will you go empty stomach? And what you have after the cardio? will you have your protein shake first or go straight to your breakfast?

The best tip I can give for posing is to work with Kenny Wallach at posingbykenny.com he will be able to help you way more then I can.

My shorts were 33 which I then had special tailored to fit my waist and quads.

My morning cardio is performed on an empty stomach. I just drink a serving of BCAA's to try and retain as much possible as possible. Post cardio I will either eat eggwhites and oatmeal (offseason) or chicken breast and grapefruit (precontest). No protein shake after morning cardio. Protein shakes only after weight training sessions.

1. Whats your supplement stack consist of in the in season and off? I know your obligated to say GAT products. But is that really what you use? I know a lot of guys just say there sponsors products but don't actually use them.

2. Top 5 supplement brands in your opinion.

Very useful information provided Sadik. My admiration for taking precious for you time to help out your fans.

I wonder how much water you drink on a regular basis? Is there any difference in the amount off-season and precontest. I am struggling to identify when I am drier and when I hold more water. Any tips?

What kind of veggies apart from asparagus you consume, because you seem to kinda exclude veggies from your diet. Do they make you too full or you prefer to invest calories in better carbs source like rice and potatoes?

Thank you

Hey Sadik, just wanted to say you're a huge inspiration for me and I hope you take Mr. O this year like you should!

I saw the videos and pics of when you had Graston done on your quads and such. Do you really feel huge benefits after? I've never had even a normal massage done and there's a highly recommended guy by me who does it and I want to try out. Thanks!

1. I drink 2-3 gallons per day. You will defiantly notice dryer conditioning once you start increasing your water intake.

2. I'm not big on veggies. I just eat asparagus and broc**** (3-5oz usually in replace of carbs in the evenings)

For me it made a huge difference since I have beaten up my body for years of two a day weight training sessions with virtually no rest days. I had a ton of scare tissue built up on my back and it was interfering with my symetry when I was posing on stage. I recommend it if you have a similar situation.

It seems as if you are suffering from a lack of motivation. If this is what you REALLY want then I suggest doing the following. Write down two goals. One short term (a goal you want to accomplish in 5 months) and another long term (a goal you want to accomplish in 5 years from now). Look at it every day you wake up, and if your hungry for your passion you will succeed.

Serious question though, do your sponsors mandate a certain frequency of posts be about their products or how does that relationship work? If this is something that cannot be discussed publicly I respect that.

That is all dependent on the negotiations between athlete and the company. But to answer your question some athlete agreements I have seen DO require a specific amount of posts for sure.

Hey Sadik,

In regards to trying to put on as much muscle as possible (assuming my diets in check) would you say hitting each muscle group twice a week is too much and not giving my muscles enough time to grow and recover ? I've heard very mixed thoughts on this. Some saying twice is optimal and others saying more than once a week is catabolic !?

Thanks bro.

So pumped to see you on that stage ! Kill it.

Everyone reacts differently the best way is to find out for yourself! What I mean by that is... Dedicate 2 weeks to first training the muscles twice per week and record your results. The following 2 weeks dedicate training the muscles one time per week and record your results. Compare both your results and that is your answer! Personally I train every muscle group twice a week

Hey, I am starting to get old (35) and I have been obese my entire adult life. For the last two years (100 weeks to be exact) I have been working out and trying to eat better. I am 55lbs down, and I have another 50lbs to go.

What kind of workout would you suggest? I actually went to your website seeing if you were selling consulting or a routine of sorts but your store is not working.

Olympia is almost upon us. I wish you the best, you deserve it.

Thank you for motivation Sadik.

Q1 - my body reacts like yours, if i cut carbs too much i shrink, i use carb cycle 3 low 1 high 2 low 1 high, I'm 6 weeks out from Arnold Classic Europe 184+ mp, do you keep any fruits in your diet?

I use same foods like you :) i took out gluten and lactoze.

Q2 - 1 day before competition i had only 2L of water and day of comp only few shots. No salt. Carbed up starting friday and saturday al 2PM i was flat on stage. Any advice??

Q3 - how many sets and reps do you hit on big muscle group and small.

I know you hit every muscle twice / week

Thank you!!👍🏼

It depends what your starting point is. When I was younger with virtually zero muscle mass I found it best to bulk as much as possible regardless of clean/dirty.

Now that I am happy with my size I prefer to maintain with a clean diet.

1. The only fruit I eat are blueberries, or grapefruit.

2. When pulling water I cut sodium for 4 straight weeks and load up on 3 gallons of water/day. I then continue to pull water 10 hours before show time (IF NEEDED). If you are conditioned enough pulling water is not necessary. And I do not carb up. I usually just have one steak and potato meal the night before.

3. As many as I physically can. Usually between 30-45 sets on big muscles. 10-15 small muscles.

Its possible yes, if your caloric intake supports that demand you are putting on yourself. But, I do not believe that is the most direct way to achieve mass.

I am trying to stay within the mens physique judging criteria so mass gains aren't my goal at the moment. I train twice a day currently. AM sessions will be cardio + 2-3 feel good exercises (example: push ups, pull ups, dips, biceps, triceps, glutes, calves). Then I will come back in the PM and target one of the following: chest, legs, back, delts.

It is hard to tell from the photos since it seems that you are currently maintaining a high % BF and significant water retention. But the one advice I can give anyone is to do your very best to double your muscle mass! By doing this you can assure you'll have an easier time dropping body fat.

Thanks for taking the time to look! I of course will be dieting for a long period before competition, im currently in an offseason phase trying to gain some mass, hence me being not so lean!

To Sadik "the physik" Hadvozic

If I were to switch over to doing my cardio in the AM and weights in the PM, how long after my cardio workouts should I do my weights? Can it be like 6 hours after?

Also, what is your opinion on dedicated a workout just to arms? I usually do tris with chest and bis with back, but this makes my workouts take too long.

That's easy... the new McLaren P1. But growing up I always lusted over the Ferrari f40 and f50 (but those technologies are outdated by now).

Do not overthink it. Just go back and train after a few meals and you are feeling fully hydrated/rested. I usually like to eat 4-5 meals before I am ready to have a great workout.

You might be asking the wrong person. I only train arms half a dozen times a year. I do not feel that Bi's and Tri's are a big enough body part that require its own specific day. If anything why don't you consider training them on the same day, supersetting them together the way Arnold would do.
