So, getting my right eye cataract out tomorrow, left a week from tomorrow. For those who know me, my cataracts are a side effect of usher syndrome. Anyway, nervous tho I'm sure it's no big deal. Anyway, wish me luck.

Had to look up Usher Syndrome Dru as I have never even heard of it. Sorry you have to deal with this, medical problems can sure stink! So do you have hearing problems than as well? Anyway, good luck with your surgery...

Good luck with the procedure tomorrow. The surgery will be over before you know it, and you'll be glad you had it done. After tomorrow, the left eye next week will be a walk in the park.

Hope the operation goes smoothly, Dru. My mother had it done in her mid-seventies on both eyes (not at the same time, though) and her vision improved around fifteen percent. She did not have Usher's, but she did have macular degeneration, the same deal as Stephen King has.

Let us know how things are going once the bandages come off.

Had both eyes done about 3 years ago. Vision improved so dramatically that I was over-the-top elated for days afterwards. Could not believe how much colors had faded with the cataracts. Lawns appeared super green and the sky was the bluest I had ever remembered. My cataracts were caused by too much sun exposure. Wear your UV sunglasses folks.

Hey all. Thanks for the well wishes. I can only read with one eye atm so I'll respond more later. Right eye is seeing great and getting clearer by the hour. Thanks again.

A relative had cataracts, and had one eye done one month, and the other the next. She said it was no problem at all, very little discomfort, and can now see just fine.

Just follow your Ophthalmologist's post-surgery instructions to the letter, and you'll be good to go, Dru.
