Lol Lakers confirmed to be tanking in 2014-2015. Probably gonna keep tanking until Kobe's ridiculous contract is up, then they could maybe actually contend.

I actually like it. When he got minutes, he was very productive. D'antoni would play him a lot of minutes and he would put up 15/12 one game, then sit on the bench for the next couple games. Since Gasol is most likely gone, this wasn't a bad signing

are they trying to keep hill cause gasol is basically confirmed to be leaving? I dont see why hill is worth 9 mil, and nick young 5 mil, other than the fact that they are different positions.

i like hill, he's been good with us. with that said, 9 mil per year is too much for him, but lakers don't really have a choice at this point, and frankly, i don't think they care. tank mode is initiated.

nick young for 5 mil per year i like.

Second year is a team option so they can just not re-sign him.

Gasol turned down a 2yr/20mil deal from Lakers per WOJ.

Hill is very a underrated player. 13 pts and 9 rebounds in his 32 games as a starter in just over 24 mpg. Also very solid percentages including a remarkable 80% ft. Also averaged 16 and 10 over the last 2 months of the season when he finally started getting consistent playing time.

Hill was 16 and 10 with very solid percentages last 2 months- he was one of the best centers in the NBA. Young is much better than Meeks and McRoberts who got bigger deals.

Didn't really watch the Lakers but I thought Marshall was supposed to be an assist machine and lights out from downtown? Why is JLin better?

dantoni system. Lin with the Knicks averaged 18,8,4 (starter) vs marshall's 8 and 9. With the way the roster is Lakers would best served with DAntoni

He often looked very uninterested in actually playing too.
I always felt Jordan Hill could have been a really good player if he wanted to be, maybe a payday could spark it.

Why even bother resigning Kobe if this is the type of chit you're going to surround him with? He might as well just sit for another season and let the Lakers go full tank mode to keep that 2015 protected pick.

I honestly don't think they'll land anyone next free agency either, if I was a free agent and was looking how this organization has been run the last few seasons there is no way I'd want to sign here. The Lakers have turned into a joke.

Are you retarded? Have you watched him play even once this past season? He hustled for every loose ball out there and went 110% for every offensive rebound. The dude was a machine when he got playing time, he was their biggest hustler.

9m is way overpriced but at least it's a short term deal. I can see why the Lakers did it. He is a decent player when given minutes and they are obviously going nowhere this season so the contract won't hurt them if they decide to go all out in the next couple of years. 2/18 is more beneficial to them than 4/26 or so

The reason he was traded to the Lakers from the Rockets is because he hardly even glanced at the ball when he was with them.

Jordan Hill is far and away the best player on the Lakers. 9m per year for him is a bargain provided you actually give him starter minutes.

His defense needs work but he brings hustle and that's something you can't teach. Not bad for a player who was considered a major bust.

better overall player. he can shoot, he can pass, he can take the ball to the rim. he will be the 2nd option on this team now.

only Lin would benefit from Dantoni. Any team with Kobe better not have Dantoni as the head coach.
