Yes he is.

Also, Cross Fit is the best way to get strong, and soccer is now Americas sport.

My vote is for Lardass Hogan.

Does crossfit have a cert available for competitive eating?

Not to mention Joey Chestnut makes a decent living eating so much. According to ESPN he took home $161,400 in 2012.

I would hope one of the perks is he'd be able to walk into any greasy spoon joint, announce who he is, and get his meal on the house. Otherwise, what's the point? Well, over than the $161,400 that is...

I wonder if he follows some kind of linear progression scheme.

Also dafuq does he do when cutting for comp. :D

My stomach gets the willies just watching people stuff hotdogs into their face like that. I don't even like to watch people eat normally, let alone gorge themselves. Contest or not.

We watched it yesterday too, the show was from Coney Island, a real historic place. 61 'dogs in 10 minutes.... I may be able to do 10 or 12. I really just watch it in case someone has a visit from Ralph O'Rourke along the way.

I would think it consists of a bunch of eating followed by puking. Rinse and repeat.... ;) (literally I suspect)

I think they should wait a day to see who win these contests. If you don't throw it up in a day you win....61 hot dogs is disgusting...I'm sure he spent quite sometime in the can either sitting or kneeling or both....

Then you can take this thread a combine it with BH's thread about fat and out of shape people...when we hail those who gorge themselves we can see why our population is 70% obese...That is a real number 70% of Americans are obese....

Remember that most of us here are included in that 70% number too. The BMI isn't all it's cracked up to be....

I just caught the "awards ceremony" for his "victory." I'd rather watch soccer.

Those who make up the 30+BMI that are there because of lean mass are few and far between....In the real world there is a very small percentage of people who are bodybuilders. When people get involved with a site like this they start thinking there's more people out there who have the same interest when in reality if you look at how many people really post here there is a small percentage of the total American population. I'm only a 25 6'1" 195 but I know a few guys who are over 30 that are there because of lean mass. Go to any outdoor food/wine/concert event.....A majority of those people are obese. It's sad but true. Look at those around you at work, in the stores and mall...most people are fat....sorry....it's sad and they hail Joey Chestnut because he's a glutton

Where would the world be without us wonderful/perfect people? On the road to perdition? We're not perfect, but at least we're trying.

Maybe it didn't sound like this but my words come from concern about these people. I don't think they are lesser people and I'm not looking down at them. It's about their health and their future. Just about everyone in my family is over weight....I went to a 4th of July party yesterday I would say 70% of the adults were overweight. Doesn't stop me from loving them but it does concern me.

If they are enjoying their lives and are happy with themselves why judge or be concerned?

Ain't like any of us are making it out alive. And as has been pointed out many folks with bad habits outlive us gym rats. I know several folks you've been life long trainers who have suddenly had strokes or heart attacks.

Only guarantee you have is you're going to die, just as well enjoy yourself. Now for me I enjoy working out, if I didn't I wouldn't do it.

If they are enjoying their lives and are happy with themselves why judge or be concerned?Because that's what we do. Decent folks anyway. We're concerned about the health and welfare of the ones we love. If your wife/family member was uncontrollably drinking, drugs, etc. wouldn't you be concerned? Wouldn't you try and help them? Concern is in our nature. I'm surprised you would ask that.

I know several folks you've been life long trainers who have suddenly had strokes or heart attacks. That's your resolve? I have to tell you that sounds more like an excuse for selfishness than anything else. No thanks
