Only one day older than yesterday.

Would you rather the alternative happen to you?

There's two reasons to be cheerful.

You’re not 40, you’re eighteen with 22 years experience.

Happy Birthday!

My turn in a month. :( But fun in a sense to have the challenge of staying youthful with this lifestyle.

Demand a recount and claim you are younger.

In the meanwhile: Happy Birthday, old man!

Isn't this the bit where you have an affair with a 21 year old, buy yourself a sports car and then blame your actions on a mid-life crisis once you're bored?

Or maybe that's just my intention.....

Happy birthday!

I would say Happy Birthday but why bother, you seem to be depressed at reaching a great age, so let me add to your angst...

Sad Birthday!!

I got news for you, buttercup: you officially turned old 5 years ago! That's what the geriatric forum is for. As for 40, my mom called it "39 and holding."

All I can say is: 1) I wish I had started lifting when I was young like you, and 2) I look way better at 50 than I ever did at 40. or any other age in my life :)

It's better to be over the hill than under it

Bro, you are f'cked. Serious. Your best days are gone and soon to be forgotten. You now likely have fewer days ahead of you than you have behind you. The best you can do now is sadly wave goodbye to your hopes, dreams, and goals as they quickly disappear in life's rear-view mirror.

I turn 40 in 19 days. I have never cared about my birthday and that includes when I was a kid. I still don't. My wife is stressing about what to do for my 40th. I told her whatever she wants to do is fine.

Age is just a number I guess. Honestly, there was more of psychological impact when I moved from my twenties and hit 30 than there was when I hit either 40 or 50. Crossing over into the 6th decade might be a little bit more like that 30 thing. Ha! Oh well, a little more grey, a few more wrinkles perhaps...and the gym to pound away in. :) What else are you going to do?

Kiennor

40's are way better then 30's.

30's are dedicated to everyone except yourself.

you start feeling a taste of freedom in your 40's.

Enjoy these years!!

My "turning 40" thought: I wish that when I was 40 I had the muscles I have today. Point being that I'm bigger, stronger, healthier, and more confident in my physical body now than I was 17 years ago.

F**k forty! It's just a ****ing number.

40 was hard for me but I take comfort in the fact I am 29 on Tinder.

I also do infinitely better with the ladies now that I am 40 & fit compared to being 20 and fat.

Also noticing I have the attitude of "well I have made it this far, everything else is a bonus, why not try that new dangerous thing" (excludes sky diving & Bungy jumping)

The good thing about getting older is that you really don't care what others think or say anymore.

You just do your thing and have fun :)

I could not wait to turn 40, I had a goal to run my first marathon when I was 40, and my goal was accomplished.

No sure how long I will have this attitude but the older I have gotten, the happier I have been and I look forward to getting older.

Happy birthday :)

Happy birthday :)

I have found those who are unhappy getting older....weren't that happy when they were younger. All things being equal, if you are getting unhappier as you get older, you are doing it wrong.

I might drive 26 miles today now that I think of it. :D

Well, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not
to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably; happy birthday? No such thing.
