Not sure if it's true, but looks like the name is being changed? I think "amino sweet" is misleading lol

The FDA’s own toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross told Congress that without a shadow of a doubt, aspartame can cause brain tumors and brain cancer and that it violated the Delaney Amendment, which forbids putting anything in food that is known to cause cancer.Sounds like a convincing statement that the good Doctor no doubt has plenty of scientific research to back up such a bold claim.

A review of the sources used in your posted link.

1st source On Rumsfeld and Aspartame = Opinion with no study cited.

2nd source Toxicity info center = Holistic website with no sources.

3rd source (alternative journal) blocked by work.

4th source "On FDA Conclusion of Aspartame’s Safety". Source indicates FDA is merely reviewing another organizations studies.

5th source states aspartame is poison because it is dangerous to those with PKU. Those with PKU have a highly restrictive diet that eliminates/moderates whole foods as well.

I like sugar.

Refined. Processed. Raw.Whatever.

I trust it over any of those artificial sweeteners.

Coffee shop at work has the Sugar in the Raw packets. I had some in desk and put it on my oatmeal a while back. They should call it, "Crunchy, and good as hell on oatmeal, sugar." They would sell a lot more.

Although I had a 12 oz can of pepsi max today, pretty tasty stuff OP.

I wish I could find it in large bags instead of just packets.

Yup, I've never been convinced by the odd hysteria that continually surrounds artificial sweeteners.

BTW, I consume a sh!tload of aspartame.

I've been trying to get away from it over the past several months but it seems it is in just about EVERYTING. I chew gum like a mad man and most gums have it in :(

I'm pretty sure that website was written in green crayon. Before the Internet nonsense like this was occasionally shouted by drunk hobos on street corners. Now it gets circulated by people. SMH.

What...aminos you say? I'm all over that...

Seriously, I guess we are all going to die of something...it is a fact of life. Good luck to all trying to weave the needle through all the obstacles...

I'm so conflicted with aspartame. On one hand I love brown sugar (cinnamon toast - yuuum!) and just had 4 spoons of it in my oatmeal but I also really like crystal light and the occasional diet coke when I diet.
Problem is, now I have kids and they want some of my aspartame drinks :(
I don't see any convincing research on either side.

I think Sugar in the Raw tends to clump too readily once exposed to air. You're left with a big rock.. om nom nom

BJ's wholesale club sells sugar in the raw in 1 lb bags.
