Hey guys, I haven't been around these forums much lately, but thought you might get a kick out of these pics. For my job, I've been traveling a lot, mostly to small Midwest towns. Sometimes there is no gym to be found, sometimes there is a decent YMCA, and sometimes I find one of these gems. It's in a historic downtown building. Cardio, machines, and squat rack are on the main floor. I guess they couldn't fit the squat rack down in the basement with the rest of the weights. I've worked out here the past three days, and each time I have been the only person there lifting. There has been one or two other folks doing cardio, and that's it. And this is at 5:30 pm, when gyms are usually crowded. Yesterday when I did bench press, I didn't even feel comfortable going over 185 because there was no one within earshot except the pudgy young lady working the front desk.

Front room of the basement. The door to the right of center is an old bank vault with a Pilates torture machine inside.

Back room of the basement where I did leg presses today.

My view from the leg press. Note the pictures stapled to the wood joists.

(if you are viewing on a phone and can't make it out, they are pictures of scantily clad ladies)

I love this place, other than the discomfort I feel of being totally alone.

Cool place! The first pic reminds me of the gym I found in Mons, Belgium last summer. The guy at the front desk was a real lifter who did physics research just downhill from where I work - small world!
