I thought the convo was always Jordan>>>>insert any other players name here.....

Nobody has dethroned him...

What's hilarious though is that Kobe has always been perceived as clutch yet all his numbers go down in the playoffs.

I don't even think Kobe thinks he is better than Jordan.

That said, I do think he is a more skilled player. His footwork is pretty amazing, but he's not nearly as athletic and strong as Jordan. I love watching Kobe take ill-advised ridiculous shots too. Hurts the team at times, but man it's fun when he drains some fading 3 pointer over two dudes.

Lebron was in Beast mode tonight though! I was really hoping the nets would knock them off.

Nope - but morons like OP don't get it.

Kobe-stans like myself only argue that Kobe is the only player allowed to be even in the discussion, even though MJ will firmly remain at #1. (don't worry LBJ-stans, he will get there, but not yet)

Kobe > MJ

MJ played in a waterred down era similar to what Lebron is in right now. Who did the Bulls even have to face?? Kobe had to face the likes of the Spurs in his own conference.

MJ was facing 6'3-6'4 SGs, while Kobe is dealing with 6'7 defensive stopper who can jump out of the gym.

No real NBA fan thinks Kobe>MJ.

I would like to see those numbers without including Kobe's first couple years where he just came out of high school and was benched most of the time.

But regardless, MJ is the GOAT

I've been contemplating with the guys at work about who had the better career between Shaq and Darko. Can you please enlighten me op?

You are so beyond-comprehension-out-of-this-world retarded, it's not even funny.

Who did they play against?
Played the best 2v2 pair in the history of the game and had to grind to win.

Only reason Houston won those two chips is because Jordan went potato to play baseball.

For those who never had the fortune of watching prime Jordan I'm sorry. If you watched prime Tiger Woods that's what Jordan was to Basketball. He'd have 8 rings if he didn't get bored and go play baseball.

lolwat?

The Utah Jazz had Stockton/Malone in their late 30's, and the rest of the roster was thin. The 00's Spurs would have manhandled the 90's Bulls.

Kobe/Shaq barrelled through Portland/Sac/Spurs in 2001 undefeated. If it wasn't for that long layoff, they would have had no losses. Put any of the 80's or 00's teams in the 90's, and they dominate more.

Again, what teams did MJ faced/ We know he didn't win jack when Magic/Bird were full throttle. We know he's never even won a playoff series without Pippen. Dont'g et me wrong, MJ is 1b to Kobe's 1a, but i saw the dude play, he had flaws too.

You trolling?

In the 2nd 3-peat they faced prime Payton/Kemp and a Utah team that was 64-18 one season and 62-20 the next.

I'm a big fan of that particular Lakers team, but come on man. They would've gotten smashed by those top tier Lakers and Celtics teams.

You really are retarded.

Kobe isn't even the best shooting guard in his team's history let alone on par with the greatest shooting guard ever.

How can Kobe be better than MJ if he isnt even clearly better than Wade. Wade has better stats, go check them, and if things go according to plan the rings won't be a way to seperate them.

Wade=Kobe neither are in the same class as James, and Jordan who are GoatA and GoatB

I was referring to putting the 00 Lakers/Spurs & 80's Lakers/Celts in the 90's. All 4 teams would have dominated that decade better than the Bulls.

Not sure how one is to respond to such a ridiculous post. Are you suggesting West > Kobe? Because even Jerry would call you a potato for that.

West was statistically a superior player in almost every facet of the game. West was a better shooter, scorer, had more assists, and averaged more rebounds. In fact, Jerry West is the only guard in NBA history to have career playoff numbers that rival MJs.

West played in a different era where guards were dribbling with one hand. Kobe would have averaged 50 PPG in the 60's. Stop embarrassing yourself.

So dribbling explains why Kobe cant shoot, pass, or rebound as well?
