View Full Version : Who's the most potato coach your team has ever had? (all sports)

Lakers:

Tie between D'Antoni and Mike Brown.

D'Antoni: No defense, terrible rotations, led a team with D12 and Pau Gasol (Kobe was healthy until just before the playoffs) to a first round sweep
Mike Brown: Terrible rotations, couldn't demand Kobe's respect worth a fuk, and nearly lost to the Nuggets in the first round, tried to run the Princeton Offense with Steve Nash

Eagles: Fortunately during the time I've been a fan they've only had one coach before last season and he was a pretty good coach. But we all know what his biggest problem was:

http://i51.tinypic.com/10mloht.jpg

UCLA Football
Rick Neuheisel: Brb, his best season was 7-6 and being literally the last team in the country to go to a bowl. Brb, 10 yard cushions on 3rd and 3 no matter who the DC was. Brb, coaching the first ever 6-8 season in NCAA football history. Brb, trying to run the pistol offense, which works if you have Colin Kapernick, with a QB who is injury-prone and runs a 4.8 40 at best. Brb, 50-0.

UCLA BB:
Ben Howland: This guy had been living off his 3 straight Final Fours for the last 5 years, with just 3 tournament wins in those 5 years. A ton of players transferred or left early to the NBA, in large part to get away from him. Mike Moser, Matt Carlino, Malcolm Lee, Drew Gordon, and Chase Stanback are just a few examples. On top of that he was incredibly stubborn and didn't know how to use timeouts. Oh you get 5 for the game? Well why not use 3 in the first half. Other team makes one layup, better stop the bleeding with a TO and end this 2-0 run.

It's been nearly 20 years since the Warriors had a good coach, and there's a long list of horrible ones in between.

Kotite won only four games in two seasons with the Jets, falling to 3–13 in 1995 and 1–15 in 1996 for the worst record in the league both years.

Mizzou BB - Quin Snyder, honorable mention to Frank Haith despite his pretty decent record
Mizzou FB - Pinkel has been there for 13 years so don't know much about previous coaches
STL Cardinals - La Russa was there since '96 so don't know much about previous coaches
STL Rams - Would probably have to go with Scott Linehan

Erickson was potato as fuk, but he didn't drop his pants and use up valuable time outs as if they were basketball timeouts like that phaggot Singletary did.

Cornhuskers: Bill Callahan

Trail Blazers: Nate McMillan (he was good defensive coach tho but fuk his offense was so poverty). Maybe Mo Cheeks.

for playing nate robinson 40 mins last year in game 5 when he was 1/10 after 35mins. he finished 2/12 or something. he had a fresh healthy rip hamilton on the bench that he didnt play at all until the very last minutes of the game. nate is a back up shooting pg who only ever plays 15-20 mins a game. but thibs wanted to play him 40mins every game. exhausting him. i admit he did well in the 1st 4 games but when you have a healthy scorer in rip hamilton on your bench who hasnt played at all that game, maybe its time to sit out your exhausted 1/10 pg before he bricks more.

Every Knicks head coach since Jeff Van Gundy
Jets: (in my memory) Eric ManGina, Herm Edwards, I know there are others, I just can't think of off the top of my head, I am on the fence about Rex... I know Jets upper management screwed a lot of things up while he was coach, yet he is to blame for other things, but still made it to the AFC championship with Mark Buttfumble Dirty Sanchez, so I will give him 1 maybe 2 more yrs max of Jets mediocrity before I would say he has to go... When I went to Arizona State University Dirk Cutter was an AWFUL head coach, I think he's an OC in the NFL now... Go figure...

it's not a tie between d'antoni and brown. brown was quite a bit better, the lakers had the 3rd seed comfortably with brown and then were sturggling to grab 8th with d'antoni.

Last season everyone missed significant time except for Earl Clark. The Lakers actually had a pretty good record post All-Star break, when we were at our healthiest and the team was starting to gel. Not defending D'Antoni, but the circumstances were different.

In terms of in-game strategy, Carlyle is worse.

Locker room management is a tie. They are both awful. Carlyle is a worse coach overall.

I presume it's been mentioned, but no one comes close to Josh McDaniels.

He drafted a couple decent players, but was terrible at everything a coach could be terrible at. Some Denver faithful still maintain BB sent him here as a sleeper agent to do as much damage as possible while inside. All I know is there is not a more vilified man in the Rocky Mountain Region.

He could have won 10 Super Bowls, it all would have been negated by him trading up to draft Timmy T in the first round lol

Lawd so true. I was outraged by that pick, I loved that they snagged DT a couple picks before, then was in total confusion/rage. It's like he pisses everyone off by deconstructing one if the NFLs best offenses, goes 6-0, and proceeds to trip over his own micropenis at every turn until it's mercifully over, and he's fired after what 1.5 seasons?

Fukk Josh McDaniels.

Beliedat said everything that needed to be said about Joshy Poo McDaniels lol. What a phaggot

I will say that the one silver lining is that he drafted DT and his 4-12 record was what allowed us to get Von Miller.

Buuuuut then I remember that he essentially traded Earl Thomas for a CB who was out of the NFL after 4 seasons (and only 1 of the 4 was with Denver lol)

Think about it though, how many coaches could succeed after losing their best DB in week 1 and best player on the team in week 2 along with losing the top 2 QBs on the depth chart over the next few weeks?

And what really impressed me was he managed to get it together and revamp an offense that was completely based on Charles that worked until Cassell got hurt.

Once missed the start of the second half against Michigan St because he had to run to the locker room to take a duke. Once called a timeout and didnt get his defense back on the field in time for the opponent to line up, snap the ball and throw a bomb. Once recruited two offensive linemen in three years, total. Refused to start Shark, Quinn, and Zibby.

And once got fired and sat quietly while all the media called ND racist. Went on to get fired by Washington, hired by a semi pro league as a DB coach and fired again.
