i have an opportunity to get a 2560x1080p extra widescreen monitor for a pretty good price, if i sell one of my 1920x1080p monitors its pretty much free, otherwise i can snag it for about 100 bucks.

worth even bothering? the extra real estate would be nice, but how is gaming on them? i can't remember exact specs but it had like a 6ms response time and is an IPS panel. i've seen it and it looks nice enough.

What price OP?
I don't know, i would've thought the aspect ratio would be weird, everything stretched and **** on the desktop.
Personally i'd get 2560x1440 or stick with the 1920x1080.

I'm sure it'd be nice as a spare monitor for some extra screen realestate.

The only game I've ever played at that resolution was Path of Exile so I could have more field of view on the sides of my character.

I was looking at them around christmas time, but didn't get one because all the models i saw were 5ms or higher and the biggest was 29".

i have a 27" 16:9 144hz screen at the moment. At 16:9 i think 29" is about the highest i would want But with these ultrawide monitors, a lot of the screen size is sunk moreso in to the width of the panel, so the height of a 29" was about the same as 21" 16:9 screen if i recall. Going up to 32" would be nice, since you wouldn't feel so much of a lack of 'height' (i would). I think it'd be an OK size for your peripheral vision too even sat close at a desk. At least that's what i expect... can't know for sure until i see a bigger panel infront of me.
