It certainly doesn't help things but he'll be just fine for the start of the season. Only downside is he's not able to work with some of the new guys at receiver and considering he'll have a whole new set of them it's not ideal.

waited too long imo, had he done it sooner he would've had minicamps to work with w/e receivers they end up with..... now any kind of setback and it lingers into TC....

EDIT: **** beat to the punch by a minute

Adam Schefter ********@AdamSchefter 1m

Over past 3 seasons, Cam Newton has been sacked or hit while throwing or rushing 467 times, more than twice as many as any other QB

granted he's ran the ball over 300 times the past 3 seasons but that's still a sh!t ton of hits for a qb

man I am fukking in love with the fact everyone is bailing on Carolina months before the season has even started

Tank or not, it'll still add up. I wouldn't want my franchise qb getting hit like that.

we kept Hardy

offseason = success, still a work in progress (srs)

yeah I know but he rarely takes the big hits. I'm sure those "hits" include shoves out of bounds, which is a pretty fukking significant amount. he gets sacked a lot but he's never finished top 3, and only finished top 5 once.

Sharper didn't have to, he just liked to. Whole different thing.

Talk about bad off-season...Can't really judge the offseason yet, especially pre-draft.

inb4 Panthers trade up for Sammy Watkins in the first and then draft Marquise Lee in Round 2

I just dont see how you can think this offseason has been anywhere close to a success. Yes, after the late FA plays the front office made last year there is still hope. At this point, with no big name WR's left, and no one on the roster this just seems a major step backward. To push Cam to the next level he will need receivers to throw to and its not looking promising. Even if we take a wr 1st round that just leaves a rookie to be double covered and shut down all season without anyone else. Again the core is still intact but no forward progression can not be viewed as a success.

Last year before the draft Carolina's interior line was seen as the weakest position group in the NFL. Two picks later and it was one of the strongest.

This draft is also unusually deep at WR. Forgive me for not thinking the sky is falling because we lost a declining receiver that was more name than play, and two easily replaceable #3/4 caliber receivers. Secondary was already weak and doesn't matter with our front 7.

Hardy was by far the most important free agent for us and we kept him. I'm not saying anything is a success or not until the season starts but free agency started a week ago and people are already writing us off because of guys like LaFell, Munnerlyn, Mitchell, etc lol. Find it funny, tbh.
