How low should I drop my calories when cutting, my maintainance is at 2550, so how many cals should I start cutting on?

I weigh 170 and am trying to get down to 160.

Start around 2200 or 2300 and adjust from there.

Give it 2-3 weeks at first, than start monitoring weight fluctuations.
Go for around .5-1lb/week.

10-20% deficit

Make sure you're still eating adequate protein and continue to lift heavy/frequently.

10-20% as stated. The bigger the deficit, the faster you'll lose weight, but the more likely you'll lose some strength too.

You're going to lose a couple pounds immediately which is just water weight, so let your weight balance out for a week or two before making adjustments.
