Cut 212-168 (5 months)

Would have needed to cut to about 160 to get to about 12% bf, decided not to try.

Bulked 168-190 (5 months)

Was hoping at 190 that I would be able to pull off 12% bf at about 170, however I have been cutting for 3 weeks @ 2200 calories and have already lost 9lbs (about 6lbs being water weight).

Surprised..was hoping I didnt lose this much water weight as it now makes it less likely that I am going to reach my goal now that I am 181 and I know I wont 12% in 11 lbs time. Funny how I once would have jumped for joy at this loss.. now I feel dissapoinment.

Just guessing here but weight loss and what you look like follows what appears to be an exponential line.
I mean the difference between 30% and 40% is barely visible
20% and 30% slight difference
20% and 15% big difference
10% and 15% huge difference
5% and 10% huge difference

You may very well be 12% @ 170.
And what makes you think that 6lb is all water weight?

I think it mainly because I have only been in a 500 calories defecit every day, the first week of going on a cut from a bulk I had a 4lb drop, of course on a 500 defecit I am only gonna lose 1lb a week, so the remaining loss can only be made of water weight or glycogen I would assume.
