... I'm not far off my target. I want to maintain this permanently - this has been my goal for years, I've hit it in the past, then struggled to maintain it. I'm going to aim for 2000 cals, 165gm protein, 6'1" 29 year old male, 165lb.

Does this seem reasonable?

no offense but it's seems a bit small.

I'm 6'2 185 in my Avi and was getting towards the tiny end.

Also it all depends how you personally handle being under 10% a lot of people don't feel all that great at that low bf%

Calories look a bit low, and many of us are using the 0.82g/pound/day for protein goal, so protein looks a bit high. Take a look at Emma-Leigh's sticky at the top of the forums for more info on calculating. I always compared dropping to low % BF to tightening down a spring - it's fairly easy at lower tensions (higher BF), but once you start dialing in a single digit BF it gets logarithmically harder and allows almost zero deviation from your nutrition/exercise program (at least that's been my experience - I'm almost back to 10% and life's getting a bit miserable). Good luck.

I have to agree. that does seem a little small. I am 6'1" at 176 right now. and I feel small at that
but your are going to have to toy with your calorie numbers and track over time

I felt small at 6'2", 187... 165 is what I weighed before I started lifting.

If you want to maintain it, best of luck. 8% maintenance is a bit unrealistic for most people.

Perhaps the Leangains IF protocol is interesting for you. Some people find it a god way to stay lean all year around.

6'1" 29 year old male, 165lb....Does this seem reasonable? It's difficult to remain that emaciated long-term, but if you really enjoy looking very slickly, I guess it's possible to stay that way for awhile at least.

2k cals is probably too low....but it really depends. 2500 would be minimum I would recommend....knowing only your height and bf%. Trial and error my friend.

I maintain around 2500-3k if I'm moderately active. But if I am very active I will need to eat more otherwise I will start losing. This is at 160lbs...but 5'9".

Now....if you are not very active and have little muscle.....things change.
