I'm trying to figure out if I should do swimming or running for my cut. I have access to an indoor pool and the swim workouts would consist to be 2 hours long with 4000-5000 yards in total as opposed to doing a running work out, sometimes HIIT running, sprint work outs, or distance work outs for around 45 minutes aprox. 2 miles.. ?

I myself create a calorie deficit + weight train to retain muscle mass.
I don't do anything more than walk my dog 4 x a week.

Ummm, any cardio will work. Between swimming and running, swimming will give you more of a full body workout. The main thing is doing something that will keep your interest and keep you going back. Intersperse some HIIT into a LISS routine and keep enough variation in it that you don't get bored.

I've really been enjoying running lately.

I can really feel that tingly burn on my obliques and even my two lower abdominal bludge. That way, you know it's working!
