overreaction of peace. so because colts beat denver, all of a sudden they are now supposed to represent the AFC in the SB? the same team that struggled against the raiders, lost to the dolphins and chargers on live TV.

they were just shtting on them the week before for losing to the chargers and not putting up a TD, but now they are going to the SB. okjeff.jpg

Are analysts really saying that even though Wayne is out for the season? They just going to replace their leading receiver without skipping a beat?

yes. some people have them in their top 2 teams.

edit: im one of manning's biggest detractors, but this win required manning playing potato for 3 quarters, even then, the colts had a HUGE chance of losing the game with a 2+ td lead if it wasnt for a potato coaching move by fox by putting in hillman on the goalline. someone known for fumbling. not sure why put in hillman in the goalline when players will be continuously swiping at the ball if he gets stuffed/stood up

Espn didn't have Luck in their NFL MVP watch (top 10) and after the victory against broncos he vaulted into #2 with some people saying he should be above manning.

Luck 2013 stats:

10 TD, 3 int, 1500 yds

Manning 2013 stats:

25 TD, 3 int, 2500 yds

Ok.pdf

I know the MVP watch is a meaningless metric but it just goes to show you how potato espn is. Strong overreaction after every week just like sports misc...

Mvp for almost choking away a victory lol -1 yards in the 4th quarter

Agreed. Just because you played in the NFL doesn't mean you necessarily know what you're talking about. All they do is repeat the same cliches. Defensive players emphasize defense, RBs emphasize the run game, and former QBs never blame quarterbacks.

Agreed. Espn is full of crap 99% of the time. Their "sports expert analysis" is pure hype and sensationalism. Half of their "breaking news" stories are fabricated content and blowing things out of proportion. They have a prisoners of the moment mentality all day every day.

Oh wait, that sounds exactly like the sports misc....lulz

The Oakland game was the first game of the season, teams aren't always hot straight out of the starting blocks, and Pryor was an unknown quantity at that time.

Miami started the season strong going 3-0 and the Colts just played really bad against San Diego. Namely dropped passes and deciding to punt at retarded times in the game.

Suggesting the Colts can make the Superbowl this year is hardly outrageous. There are only 2-3 teams who you could say are better than them in the AFC.

I'll be the first to criticize king choke artist manning but he's hardly stat padding. Up until this week it's been so easy for them to score. They literally score a td in under a minute a lot of the time. What is he supposed to do keep going 3 and out the whole game when they're up 2 or 3 scores in the first quarter? They still have to try to move the chains to kill the clock, unfortunately they've been too good at moving the chains that they end up scoring almost every drive.

Since when do you pass to chew up clock? The broncos have run nearly 70% passing plays.

The idea of using the pass game to chew up clock makes no sense at all. You can say he isn't stad padding, but he definitely is. They choose to pass on such an absurd amount of plays, especially near the goal line, when running would be a very simple option since it's nearly impossible to stack the box vs denver.

Brady's teams run almost exactly 50/50 pass run because it's clear he doesn't give 2 shts about his own productivity. The playcalling has been so pass centric for denver that it's clear what the goal is.

I don't want to sit down and start adding up all the points but Denver has scored ~300 points and given up ~100 points and Brock Osweiler had something like 1 round a snaps the entire season. No one is saying Manning should stop scoring when the game could go either way but when you're up 41-20 against the Eagles in the 4th quarter and you dont allow your backup to come in and take snaps, you're a stat padder.
