View Full Version : SF Giants ****ing up the free agent market, give Tim Lincecum 2/35 Million

Guy has been on the decline for the last few season, losing velocity on his fastball and they give him $ 17.5 million a season ? Good news for Ubaldo, Garza and Ervin Santana, Giants already ****ed up the OF market by giving Pence 5/90. GM's and owners are wondering wtf is Sabean doing ?

Timmy can be effective. Hes learning how to pitch with the loss of velocity.
Pence is a white clean cut guy. Sadly, that will get you more money. Plus without digging up all the sabermetric stuff he will hit for average, power and drive in runs. Hes fast and has a good arm... So hes getting paid.

Dude had a strong finish to the season. Been garbage otherwise. Crazy if they gave him that contract because he had a good finish

First the Pence deal and now this. I am so fukking mad at this organization. The Cardinals should be every team's model and the Cardinals would have laughed at this deal. Absolutely terrible. They are officially content with the two titles and just drawing in the sucker fans now. Fuk.

Giants fan reporting in. Lincecum can still be an effective starter, but not for $18m/year. However, it's less than what he's been getting paid, so whatever.

Too much damn money for what theyll get on the field.

From a business model, well worth it, guy can draw in fans.

And why didnt they shell out a little money at Brian Wilson.

So weird seeing the big beard in a dodgers jersey...

Good they kept Timmy just wish it was closer to market value.

Horrible deal.
Not as horrible as paying Huff 11 milloin or whatever he was getting

Its the old "Thanks for getting us a World Series" contract.

This is how I look at it, he's pretty much "solid" at best currently and that's assuming he doesn't get any worse. I see this as the Giants telling future players they won't suck the life out of them in their young years before the big pay day and then throw them in the garbage pile when they are done with them - especially when the prime performance was of Lincecum's caliber.
