View Full Version : Need help with setting my carb intake for cutting!

I am currently looking to cut about 10 lbs. to lower my bf % from where it is right now. I have lost roughly 10 lbs (down from 160-150 lbs) in the last month and a half, but I feel that it will be tougher to lose the next 10 lbs to get where I want to be (140 lbs). I currently eat 150 g protein (1g/lb) and 170 g carbs per day, but I often struggle to reach my calorie goal of 1950 calories because of my low fat intake. I lift 5 days/week and do three to four 15 min. HIIT sessions per week. Are these numbers (especially the carbs) too high or low for my needs? Should they be adjusted?

You should be eating a minimum of 122g of protein and a minimum of 60g of fat a day for your weight of 149lbs, that leaves you with 230 g from carbs to hit your 1950 goal

Don't worry about your carb intake until you have protein and fats down. For your weight you should be looking at about 150-170g of Protein minimum, then a minimum of 60g fats. You can then fill the rest of your calories with carbs..

If you're struggling to meet your fat macro, make friends with peanut butter and nuts in general.
