n its quest to improve security at all stadiums (and perhaps to pick up a few merchandising bucks in the process), the NFL has revised its policies for what fans -- mostly female fans -- can bring into stadiums. Here are the new parameters:

The NFL strongly encourages fans to not bring any type of bags, but outlined what is permissible. Beginning with preseason games, fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry into the stadium:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags are available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com), or
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bag options.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

@SiriusXMNFL The functional purse ban an inconvenience. @NFL doesn't care bc run by men, & they know it won't stop fans from going to games

this. The only inconvenience is buying **** and carrying it around. Would rather have a backpack, but when it's that or get blown up by a bomb, i'd prefer to carry my ish.

Why do you need to bring a purse anyway? Wallet, keys, and phone all fit easily into pockets.

I wonder if it's still Ok to bring my Lions bomb vest. It's not listed on the items and I like to encourage the offense to explode.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I mean, sh!t, who needs to bring a ton of chit inside the stadium? They're going to a game, not [insert something women usually go to]

It it kind of ridiculous that I'll have to see the contents of every womans purse at the games (aka tampons and depends for old ladies). If it keeps me safer so be it but they better not discriminate against people that have health issues and are forced to wear fanny packs and such to cover their colostomy bags.

Good thing they didnt ban water bottles because I dont think I would opt to pay for 10$ bloody marys when I can just take my water bottle full of vodka with a v8 can.

increased scrutiny≠increased security, thats the same fallacy that the TSA uses and it has prevented 0 terrorist attacks since its inception

at the end of the day, if some psycho wants to hurt people, chances are he's going to do it regardless of how many rules there are in place
