Burnt out? Mechanics? Psychological?

Lincecum and Kershaw duels was going to be the next big thing and the guy just loses his stuff.

thoughts? If Kazmir can bake, surely Lincecum can too.

Too small to sustain that velocity.

Terrible mechanics.

All of his pitches' velocities are down, except his changeup, which doesn't help.

He had to quit smoking.

Lincecum can't bake until he can bake.

You picking up what I'm putting down?

He's still only 28. What would happen if he got TJ and just took a year off to repair arm strength?

srs? If he needed TJ he wouldnt be pitching.
I agree with BenedrylBandit, I think he was too frail and couldnt keep velocity. From what Ive seen he just hits the low 90s these days back when he was prime he was throwing much harder. Its a damn shame... I try not to feel sorry for millionaire star athletes butI do feel for him some. He still seems to register a lot of Ks.
FWIW I remember reading where he would be happy to accept a role in the pen. I bet thats a hard pill to swallow but he seems humble.

Tragic. I believe this is his final year of his contract? Interesting to see what happens next.

He'll get a little synthetic help and suddenly be throwing 98 again next offseason

Turned down 5 years / $100 million in off season - hopefully not on his agent's advice.

Losing the hair sapped his strength. He's a modern day Samson.

Would probably allow him to get the velocity back as most guys usually throw 2-3 mph harder.
