View Full Version : Pre workout meal

Hey guys I have never really looked into pre/post workout supplements or food, but usually an hour or so before my workout I usually have my standard meal which is chicken breast, sweet potato and green veg usually asparagus, then after my workout I have a whey protein shake followed by a similar meal? Do you think this is ok or do u think I would benefit having supplements?

Nope, sounds good. Only use supps if you need them to hit your macro's.

Thats good man, optimal is 1 hour before training some chicken breasts with vegetables and rice, than 20 minutes after training protein, 60-90 minutes after training again you normal daily meal

How is that so? Why protein 20 mins after?

Maybe it was a 4 hour training session and he will be fasting the next day?

Meal timing is irrelevant bro. If you need extra energy for lifting, eat something to give you energy. Coffee, bread, pop tarts, Big Mac, whatever you want. As long as it fits in for the day.

Post workout I usually have a shake when I get out of the shower. Not because there is some special timing for it, but because its what I prefer to tide me over until I get home to eat some whole foods.

Eat when it's convenient. All that matters is if you hit your numbers by the time the day is through.
