Eat whatever you desire, I prefer oats or yogurt before I lift.

You don't even necessarily have to "eat something before you workout". Meal timing is irrelevant.

This ^, usually train fasted or just some pre workout no foods necessary most of the time.

Train fasted on black coffee and have a big meal after! yeeeaaaah brother!!

Or, eat the foods you like that satisfy your nutritional requirements.

I'd normally eat a chocolate bun/ pop tarts/ banana. Basically something light and carb- densed.

I also train on a empty stomach. But if I were to ever eat something, it has to be real light such a a bananna, piece of bread.. I hate working out and feeling bloated.

make experiments, figure out how your body reacts on different kinds of stuff. Once I ate m&m's as a preworkout an hour before my lifting, I was sleeping on the 3rd set of bench press. Hence, no sweets before lifting for me.

Nothing. Personally, I can't eat within like 3 hours before working out or I'll feel like puking.

First day I ate 2 hours pre-workout in a long time (usually fasted).. my energy levels were extremely low

I train fasted as well but if I was going to eat something before working out it would something with brown rice syrup. IMO, brown rice syrup is a time release capsule of glucose.
